What to do with the sword shard?
Finished the game and i seems missed the opportunity to use it.
And what's with the ending slide? it's literally just 1 slide for "my own abomination" ending

To use the shard you need to do a few things.
1. On first choice what to do when you are blocked by fire is to chose the heretical option
2. You have to always pick up / don't give up the shard from now on
3. You need to chose literally every heretical option from now on and will need to actively seek out heretical options which will block you out of one of the colonies
4. When you kill the first Aurora you need to steal the handle and not give it to Hendrix
5. Now when you hit rank 3 heretical conviction you will be gifted an altar go to it and swear yourself to the chaos gods, the shard and handle will be removed and you will get a passive buff
6. After you progress the main story you will receive the sword reforged which needs heretical conviction rank 4 to use

Concerning the ending slide(s) this might be a bug as in three endings I got there was a whole slideshow describing the fate of the expanse characters, factions and companions.

And to get rid of the fragment on the contrary?

You can give fragments to Heinrix for some conviction points.

You don't have to take the option that blocks you out of the colony but everything else is correct

Actually no, that is not the only thing that is incorrect.
2. You don't have to pick up the shard from the Chaos Spawn. If you don't pick it up then Janris will, and he will ask you what to do with it. At that point you do need to have him give it to you. Probably simpler to just pick it up yourself, but not strictly necessary.
3. This may be true to an extent if you have only the base game. It definitely is not true if you have one or both of the DLCs. There are many more heretical options now, and missing some will not outright block you from reaching rank 4 in time.
6. Receiving the blade is one possible outcome. You also have the option to decline the blade (and fight an extra battle) to get a different reward. The other reward may or may not be better than the sword, depending on your character.

If I'm not mistaken, it's the other way around, actually. If you fight the extra battle, you get the blade, which is the only 2h Force Sword in the game thus far. If you instead agree to the... conditions, you don't get the blade, and you don't fight any extra battle.

The sword itself is perhaps sort of a booby prize, since it can very easily kill you (due to Perils of the Warp) with a single AoE attack if Veil Degradation is already high, as during Warp Jump encounter battles. And yes, you will trigger Perils with it at max Veil Degradation (20) even if your RT isn't a psyker.

My memory was that The Edgelord of Daybreak offered me the blade or the opportunity to become a champion of chaos - but with the condition that I had to fight for the alternative to prove my worth. It has been a while since that heretic run, though, and maybe I have it backwards.

Either way, though, the point is that getting the sword is not guaranteed because there is another path you can take where you don't get it.
If you become champion of chaos, you can even recruit some special chaos marine, who will else be your enemy ........

You can also do that if youtake the sword instead of becoming the champion of chaos.
