Upgrade editions question

Do any of the editions affect game play in a ptw kind of way? I am curious if I should buy base game or upgrade to higher edition of game? If it is just cosmetic i might, but if it gives you an edge in the game i do not know if i would get it.

the items from deluxe give you a slight edge early game, and I do mean slight as in you can easily not have them and never notice.

the ship, hard to say it is stronger then the "base" version but space combat sucks so much I basically just trudged through it and can't honestly say how big/little the difference is.

the voidfarer pack items are pure cosmetic.

I got the Deluxe edition. Did not notice anything different gameplay wise. The ship seems to be a different skin. So purely cosmetic.
