So the layout is the same? Could someone post screenshots of how they both look differently? Little bit surprised they don't have a screenshot on the store page showing a side by side. I may buy the DDE version I think...

Mind you the story is written around the sword class. Meaning that book events depicting the ship won’t show the dlc variant.
I should probably mention that the deluxe ship is the Firestorm and that the Falchion was a pre-order only addition. Crew/ship size, weight are irrelevant and only there as flavour.
So, the interiors stay the same regardless of edition? The only thing the different ship variants do is reskin them in ship to ship combat and while moving from sector to sector on the world map?
So, the main room in the base ship will look identical to the main room in any of the other ships(Same curtains, same interior layout, same position of consoles, same pillars, walls and windows, etc.)?
only changes are cosmetics for combat/system map and starting equipment
the layout of the ship is tied to combat and event encounters so they're not remaking it for 3 variants of each encounter, the only stats for the ship that aren't tied to equipment are tied to upgrades you have to pay scrap for so they're not going to give 1 option better stats and make it the objective best option
so aye, it's all down to cosmetics for 2 things and what starting loadout you like best
