Act 4 -- Jae is gone

I just left Footfall with a mission to recapture Euphrates II . The first thing that however pops up, is that Jae has left, with some weird comments about her wanting to do a last good thing on Footfall(or something along those lines). Real confusing.

And that's it. No quest, no rumor and you can't talk about it with anymore -- neither on the ship or on Footfall.

Is this a bug or is this meant to happen?

I believe it can happen if you miss her quest and since Act 4 is a buggy mess her quest probably didnt fire correctly and you are seeing what happens.

Jae companion quest on footfall is to save her old squad who were captured. you have to go into the sewers under the bar on the worst "stealth" quest i have ever seen since there is no stealth mechanic in the game. really weird choice.

she comes up on the bridge and asks you this. you could say no Jae i dont care etc which makes her leave.

problem is all these quest in Act 4 for lots of players are all messed up and dont fire or get flagged correctly.

so sounds like you got hit with the bug if you never had her approach you at the start of 4 and ask for help.

act 4 is broken wait for a patch, i uninstalled for now and will wait a few months as is the way with owlcat games, i couldn't handle the bugs anymore

Frustrating, her quest broke for me as well and now she'll just leave. I was prepared for bugs but I'm pretty burnt out now since I keep getting stopped from playing

She never even asked. which is weird, because I flew around the galaxy doing a lot of rumors at the start of chapter 4. But I guess I'll reload some old save and randomly fly around the galaxy even more...

Or maybe I'll just try again in a month or two, because this just seem ridiculous...

i know on reddit devs said big patch end of this week and right after xmas. so there is hope

Tried flying around in several older saves, and it's just not giving me the quest.

So yea, I give up.

Aw man, another year of waiting.

Gave it one last try and loaded a save from the start of Chapter 4. Jumped around a lot and still couldn't get the quest. So I went to Footfall, followed the story for a bit, until I could enter the bar.

Then I tried talking to her bartender buddy, and she had conversation options about how Jae had left and hadn't returned. Then she told me something about Valco. Meanwhile she was in my party and I still didn't have this quest.

So yea... super duper bugged.

So I started tweaking a bit with toolbox, and that mod does let you start this quest.

For those who want to try as well (at your own risk!!!), you can do that as followed:
1. get the toolbox mod (obviously)
2. open the mod
3. go to the 'search 'n pick' tab.
4. on the left, press 'quests'.
5. in the right column, type: JaeQ2

Now a quest named JaeQ2_quest should pop up. Press the start button and the quest will start.

After that enter Footfall and a conversation does trigger and the quest does update. So it seem to be working.

I have some quest to go celebrate to Footfall with Jae´s buddies. Is that the quest? Becuse that appeared after I found those seals for her and she gifted me "reptile lion", can´t remember her name.

No, this is about the "rat hunting" quest in chapter 4.

That celebration quest is from chapter 2 I believe.

That celebration quest is from chapter 2 I believe.

True! I´m in chapter 2 now - ugh, then it seems I should wait, also :/

I finished the Rat quest COMPLETELY and three jumps later she is bugging me to do the rat quest or she will do it on her own.

Bugged to hell.

Same. It seems that one of the cases when, after the transition between systems, you are thrown onto the bridge/captain's cabin - a dialogue with Jai should start on the topic of her personal quest. But since there is no dialogue, everything turns out purely “feminine” - “I came up with the dialogue myself, I was offended” :))
