Female voice acting is atrocious

The male voice-acting isn't much better. You choose between brash and pompous (Bold Male), loudly zealous (Pious Male), hoodlum with a touch of a London East End accent (Practical Male), and blatantly sinister (Heretical Male). All executed vociferously.

Not sure why the female actors are singled out when no one uses their indoor voice. It appears that everyone was directed simply to emote, with no consideration for nuance and restraint. But this game is hardly the worst culprit. CRPG's going back to the first Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale weren't exactly known for subtle acting either. And if you're an old-timer, you might recall the same for the Might and Magic series (starting from 3, which was the first entry that was voiced).

That being said, I can understand why the acting is so over the top. When you can't see the character's facial expressions or other nonverbal cues, you can only rely on the voice to convey key points.

i know i am nitpicking there is so much about this game i truly love but for reasons more to do with my own issues probably i find loud shouty women ridiculous and intolerable

Idira and Jae are pretty bad. Idira over-acts terribly and Jae both over-acts sounds like some unsettling hybrid of Persian and Oirish. Heinrik's not bad but sometimes can't decide what the "tone" of the character is (could be a direction problem). Other than that, most of the VO is quite good. Abelard's a bro and Yrliet consistently sounds like what she's supposed to be (i.e. an elf :) ). Argenta, Pasqal, very good too. Ulfar's a bit OTT but it suits his character and works with the vocal effect that's on his voice.

I thought Jae wasnt that bad. Ya her accent was really weird, but that doesnt bother me because I assume that with how spread out men are that you will run into some really weird sounding accents. Nor did I find her particularly abrasive, to be honest. Idra was terribly over acted, but meh. As for the rest, ya I thought they were all good.

This isn't baldurs gate where everyone is just a regular person with so stuff going on.

These are religious nuts, that have more piousness in their pinky toe then you have in your entire body.

i am a religious nutcase myself IRL but i dont go arround shouting 24 7 lol And yes i do find the jokes made at my expense very funny i just honestly believe that owlcat are doing such a great job with this game that apart from the bugs which will be fixed the only glaring issue is the female voice acting,
