Tenebris Aquae system and Yrliet
Just FYI - if you let her speak to the Eldar survivors, then it rolls -her -persuasion.

And at -30. She has no investment in Persuasion, and a baseline 30 Fellowship. It is -literally- impossible for her to succeed unless you boost her skill somehow. I'm currently stubbornly rolling on a 5% chance to succeed because I had a necklace with +5 Fellowship on it and that's the only item boosting her chances that I could find that she can equip.

For anyone who finds this thread, the failure seems to be automatic and story driven. I gave Yrliet an item that adds +10 to all skills and she got 3<10% (successful roll) but the text still said she failed and I got the same outcome. Do NOT waste your time trying to save xenos

I honestly thought it was a bug as later on she will meet a group of Aeldari and you can choose to ask her to negotiation for you and it rolls with party persuasion instead of her own stats.

I used toybox here. I added 200 cha to the character and set it to “always 1” for skill checks, but I still saw a failure. Either this is a bug, or it was done intentionally - an illusion of influence on choice.

I find the whole "bait and switch" of personal vs party rolls annoying. Like in Act 3 where your PC has to make rolls for themselves. It's like they are gasslighting the player to think that you can specialize your party members to specialize in skills but, then punishing you for it. It's like the Systems Designer and the Narrative Designer need to get on the same page.

Its possible to succeed in it. I too used the +10 skills item and rerolled save a bunch. After you succeed you have three choices on what to do with the Aeldari. All three of choices lead to them dying anyway. So its just exp for succeeding and Yrliet is sad either way.

the failure is not automatic. i've respecced her and took all persuasion options when leveling her up, which brought her to somewhere around 60, which was enough.

no idea what you mean with 200 cha, you need fellowship and/or persuation to succeed and it worked for me by respeccing and putting points into it.

my god someone's talking my thoughts here.

I am so frickin pissed that some encounters it's some random a-hole in my group with 0 chance of rolling. Like my god people seriously I spent all this time working up these fracking characters to deal with your bs.

Ikr lol. My RT failed every skill check at The Emperor and My Right. I mean yea, he is alone but then in your meditation quest where you're within your inner self, you're using party skill checks or the talk with the Inquisitor alone you still use party skill checks too.

It is possible to succeed. I did it after a -lot- of reloading, as I only had a 5% chance.
