I was able to choose that option and it worked. I tried different party compositions. Bring Heinrix, Yrliet and Marazhai with you, they will help you pass some checks.

The quest worked for me, and I have no xeno in my surroundings. But I had to go through all of the dialogues to uncover everything, which means to come back to NPCs for a second and third interview. I might have needed a skill check or two along the way, too.

Can you explain how you went through all the dialogues? I also have no xenos in my playthrough and I could use some help nailing this quest since it seems like the most common answer to this is to have Yrilet with you...

Well I was having the same problem as everybody. I asked Abelard to speak for me and nothing happened.

I tried all the things people were talking about and nothing worked. So what I did was to bring Yrliet and Heinrix with me.

My rogue trader is only good with FEL skills, so I wasnt able to pass some checks in this quest. But by bringing Heinrix and Yrliet with me, they were able to pass those checks.

So my team was: My MC, Abelard, Cassica, Yrliet, Heinrix and the Dark Eldar.

I followed these steps.

1. Check the bodies outside and find the note.
2. Talk to all the aristocrats. If you have the xenos companions with you one of them will be racist about it. Call him out (You may have to pass a passive check)
3. Go to the entrance and talk to the suspicious guy and pass the checks (dont worry if you fail, Heinrix and Yrliet will help you out)
4. Use Heinrix to get the son of the governor to confess his mistake and make him show the place where he met his accomplice.
5. Use all those clues to question the nobles. Be sure to exhaust all the dialogue tree options.
6. When is time to make your accusation, choose both options where you accuse the right family and pass the skill check. (Abelard will mention the guilty one is clear)

I wasnt able to get best outcome without using the xenos companions. But If your character is able to pass all skill checks perhaps that will be enough.

Did the same, just no Henrix in my party, and it bugs out. Maybe Henrix is the key to it.

They should just fix this ♥♥♥♥ that was reported weeks ago though.

I am having the same issue. I have Yrliet in my party (didn't have the Inquisitor) and made all the checks, got the son to confess to the forgery and then passed all the tests when confronting the families, but when I select the option for the Seneschal to handle the issue, the dialogue box goes away and nothing happens and the quest fails to progress.

Had the same bug at first. Then I reloaded and added Yrliet to my party. The main difference was that, when findig the corpse after the first round of interrogations, I did not pass the perception check over the body, as before, but Yrliet pointed out the wound in the corpses neck. Since the revelation of the culprit in the cinematic is highly related to that wound, maybe that check is the key to solve the bug? At least it worked for me...

I passed every single check, bought Yrliet and the quest still dies out when I ask Abelard to take over. Great game except for the bugs. It'll get resolved at some point. Until then, I guess I'll shelve it as well. /sigh

For the quest to execute correctly, three things need to happen.

1. After Vicent directs you to Halen Gaprak, and you discover Halen Gaprak is dead, you *must* take note of the injection marks on his neck. This can happen if you pass the Awareness check, have Pasqal in your party, or have Yrliet in your party.

2. When talking to Cornelius Drivestem, you must compel him to confess his error. This can happen if you pass the coercion check, or if you have Heinrix in the party and choose the Inquisitor dialogue.

3. After those first two steps, you must ask the drivestems about Marcharius Saurback, and have the lady lead you to the bench where an easy Awareness check will occur.

If you don't complete steps two and three, then you will not have the option to ask the Seneschal to take it from here. If you complete steps two and three, but failed step one, then you will have the option but the quest will bug out when you select it. Only by completing all three of these steps will the quest execute correctly.

Selecting the option for the Seneschal to take it from here is the *only* way to uncover the true culprit. All other options will not reveal the person truly responsible, even the one where you condemn a certain family because they always disrespected you.
