you can get a random event on yellow or higher paths, that can give you I think 6 (maybe 8) Navigator points it can happen multiple times but only seems to happen when out of points.
I still have one left so I have to use that one up first?
Also what does that even look like so I can go ahead and try and skip all the others?
Thanks for the Help!
also it's basically a way to ensure that if YOU use up all your points you have a way to get more and don't get yourself "stuck".
I beat the game on my first playthrough and only hit 0 once. and admittedly it was my choice that caused that as I was making paths green between my colony worlds.
You can get the event even with a handful Navigator points. I got it twice with more than ten, allowing me to go for a couple of long, convenience routes I made green, burning 12 points for them alone. As long as you go for green routes only between your colonies, using a single green path initially and conserving points, you can constantly maintain a surplus. However, most of the map will be yellow and orange, and you will be making detours to use the good routes. That way you will both avoid the nastiest warp events, yet will have to go through zones that guarantee you will be facing various random encounters.
Keep in mind, that the event that gives navigator points should happen only when travelling yellow or more dangerous routes, not green ones.
This is really annoying design.
Farmed yellow jumps for about an hour before it dropped.
Oddly though, just before that fight I noticed a red warp path to those three systems that I know wasn't there before. The encounter I mentioned above hit me on the way to the spot where the line was. So I'm wondering if the devs snuck in some sort of failsafe.
