Is there any way to repair the hull of your ship without spending scrap?
Title pretty much sums it up.

Nope, but you can tune down the scrap cost via voidship feats.

It is a weird one since you are the almighty rogue trader but you can not find/commandeer/take/steel/plunder some scrap? I mean the first wrecked ship you find should already supply enough for a lifetime.

Anyway, only scrap will fix your ship.

Stat-wise our "frigate" is actually a cruiser. And only Footfall (+ probably Forge World) could do repair of capital ships. And such repair docks usually occupied by Navy...

Open menu, go to options -> difficulty -> turn down space combat difficulty (for some reason, repairs count for space combat difficulty...), repair, increase it back to the point where you feel comfortable. Of course if you're trying to do achievements or something that count the difficulty, then you might not wanna do this (no idea about achievements didn't buy this one on steam).
if you don't have enough to repair, one thing you can do if you have upgraded your hull or ram is to down grade it, you get a bunch of it back but not the whole original cost.

if you have enough profit factor you can by 3 stacks of 50 scrap at the navy fleet in Furibundus but i haven't seen it refresh in my own game yet. i don't remember exactly but i think you need something like 36 PF

I turned up the difficulty after 20 hours of gameplay and I got two achiements for doing earlier missons on the new difficulty despite I played on normal.. So yeah:steamhappy:
