I sent Argenta with a run-and-gun to blast her with a bolter burst fire and Abelard jumping in with his dash attack ability.
Just keep in mind bring it down cancels in my sights.
Also lock the priestess in hand combat with Abelard and use powerful blow (or whatever his push attack is called) and reckless strike. It will push her out of cover and the auto attack of opportunity against him won’t land anyway.
Priestess doesn’t have a lot of HP, she should be dead in a turn or two at which point you can mop up.
The important thing to this game’s combat is to identify the key targets and find ways to focus on them without getting bogged down by their grunts. That way you control the flow of battle.
For all my complaints about the number of bugs and poor development and business practices of Owlcat, I really enjoy the way they set up their battles.
Seriously, with even 1 dedicated Officer in party (plus Cassia) our xenos girl will be able to clean most fights in a single turn if you aren't anger Dark Gods of Random too much.
A got a precise bolter for Argenta and a good flamer. With 2x Seize the Moment, Run and Gun, and her first ultimate she killed two demonettes, a guard and damaged the maid, as she ended up near her. Having a free grenade toss helps, too, if someone remains stanind with 1-3 hitpoints. Tactician is really nice for a sniper, my RT can one-shot most enemies he has in line of sight. I could maybe have killed the maid with him, but I went with the safe option (95%) and eliminated a guard instead.
I am not fond of the act 2 companions Jae and Yrliet, who are going to share the bench with Idira.
They don't, they have 2 dedicated skills for sniping.
She generally kills the boss(es) in the first round and the rest of the team mop up the rest.
90% of the fights end before turn 3 *shrugs*
