Librarian vs Sanctioned Psyker

How is the power difference?

Kinda disappointed cause I was hoping for the same range of skills as a librarian

librarian is a space marine which is a failed attempt to clone the emperor.................. even if they don't process power of the emperor they are still leap and bonds better than even your most power fun human psyker

I mean in DoW 2 the range of spells is alot cooler than the kit given to you here, was hoping for the same and ended up kinda disappointed

In general, sanctioned psykers are the most powerful psychic individuals who are trusted enough to control their powers without being soulbound astropaths, they should be slightly more powerful in terms of psychic power than average epistolary but inividuals vary as always.

As a Psyker I feel they lack a vortex type AoE? Molten beam and purge soul are nice but I wanted to shazam and make a group of enemies paste

If you want an effective AOE attack then telepathy is what you're after. Psychic assault utterly destroys this game at just about any difficulty, especially if you spec into the debuffs talents and have a class that lets you make multiple attacks. You can lock down entire encounters.

In tabletop rpg at least theres flame breath(which is technically single target), sunburst(automatic fire sending streaks of light) and inferno(just straight up aoe)

what bothers me is lack of smite in the game unless thats what arc lightning is supposed to be

THANKS! Ironically I thought pyromancy should be it though, I also hope I can wear farseer armor and a singing spear!

You cannot, but there are a fair amount of interesting armor choices imo. If I recall the singing spear I found required unsanctioned psyker but by then Idira had already gone out the airlock for various reasons.

Librarians are most pure and strong-willed children taken on Black Ships. Not-so-great material will became SanctionedPsykers / Astropaths. Everything that remains is feed to the Golden Throne.

If you crave a singing spear, there is one on the agrar world, once you kill it's owner. It does a whopping 1-8 damage, though.
