Drifting Voidship boss question

Why should I fight the boss when I can "force the entity to become your servant on the ship"
I get the same loot(probably more exp for killing the boss/adds)

and I don't get the servant part at all
Can I use the boss as a servant for events or something?

Have you figured out, what are the benefits/consequences of this option?
After selecting "Servant" option, there was no battle - just some loot appeared. Despite stating in the dialogue that the entity will got to the ship, haven't found anything back on the bridge

Ordering it to serve you Buffs your ship with "daemonic Presence". Flagship lance hits have a 50% chance to start internal fires on the target ship. However, if there are no internal fires on enemy ships, it starts a fire on your ship. It tells you about the reward in the dialog once you pick that option, but i can't see the buff listed anywhere in the stat screens

Seems like a horrible reward.
