I believe you can release your companions early should you convince the dude who heads the Anatomical Opera, but if you cant, after the second arena fight he will say "im abandoning this place" or something to such an effect and you can ask him to set any unsaved companions free, which he will.
Heinrix is located on the upper area behind him, you just have to talk to the npcs around the devices and you should be able to free him. Since I didnt bring her, she wasnt here, but I heard that Cassia is also located in the same sort of area.
To be a bit of wrapping up, here are some locations of the companions that I bought with me;
Ablelard and Argenta; Both are located in the Mangled Sector. Argentia is right be the Commissar, kinda hard to miss her. Abelard is located to left of the entrance to the area, I believe he requires a skill check to reach and a persuasion/item to bring him out of his trance.
Pasqal and Yrilet: Both should appear on the streets after your first arena fight. Yrilet is near the entrance to The Pit being accosted by some Dark Eldar. Pasqal is located near the entrance to the Mangled Sector and the portal that takes you up top. He is lying on the ground in red nearby.
Ulfar, Heinrix, "bodyguard" and Cassia: All of these can be found in Anatomical Opera, but released under certain conditions and times. Ulfar can be "bought" from the guy in charge by giving him one of those valuable items you find then giving dialogue options. Im not sure if you can fail to convince him, but he should be released once he abandons the place (unsure however). Once you have the key to his cell, you once again make dialogue options to annoy and bait a rise out of him, at which point he will laugh and join you. Make sure to loot the box literally right next to his cell you get his armour, knife, cape and gun.
Bodyguard I believe are the custom characters you can make with your high factorium guy. I believe you can just talk to the dude in the Opera and he should release them.
Heinrix as mentioned above, you need to convince the dude in charge (unsure) or he will be released right before the third arena fight. Once again, you have to go up the stairs to the raised area behind him and talk to the dude infront of a torture device to release them.
Based on other posts, the same goes with Cassia, although once again I am unsure.
Once you enter the third arena fight, you will "complete" the reunion quest, and im assuming anyone you didnt find and save will be lost forever. But based on when the quest completes, you should be able to save everyone before the third arena fight. Should you see that quest complete and you know you havent got everyone, or check the entry for it in the journal and see a red x next to a companion, make sure to reload a save and get them back.
Or dont, you monster.
Yeah, thats what annoyed me.
Hes super easy to miss if you dont interact with the random torturer dude right outside his device. What makes it annoying is that there isnt any reason to interact with the dude since all other guys have random dialogue, but this one guy doesnt.
Needs to be communicated better, imo.
The middle button controls the first two. Get those even and down. Cross over to the cage after those two that doesn't move with a single character. Pick a different one to then lower the far cage. Cross over for Profit. Repeat to get back across.
Make sure you take Yrliet to the Arena and after that, or you're going to have to reload here. Its more annoying than the puzzle.
He is located behind the big guy in charge. You can’t access him until he moves some stairs you need to go up.
The cages you can move with the switches just lead to some extra optionally loot.
Very buggy chapter

After being a little lost in Chapter 3, I searched for help, which led me to multiple posts describing how buggy Chapter 3 can be: The scary bug being characters lost forever because they didn't show up.
Well, I made it through a decent portion and realized I had three characters that weren't going to show, so I had to go way back to an old save and start working my way back in the hopes the bug didn't show again.
Luckily, I finally realized (and I'm guessing for some others this wasn't confusing at all): The only people you have to save are the people that are in your party when you get ambushed. It makes a ton of sense in hindsight. My three missing characters welcomed me back on my bridge because they weren't abducted.
The mangled sector is pretty small, but ill do my best to describe.
Argenta is quite literally right next to the entrance to the place, stood near the Commissar. Like, you have to actively try to miss her, but if you still cant find her, if you press m to open up the map i you can see her there.
Abelard is on the opposite side of the area from Argenta and the Commissar. He is for certain in the mangled sector, he should be across a gap that you need to make a skill check for. In order to recruit him back, you need a stim or to pass some dialogue checks.
If there are any other characters in the area, im not sure. Since Those were the only 2 I brought with me.
Same scenario here but I lost Cassia instead.
