Fight aboard the Hulk...
Could it be that this fight is coming way too early in the game? I only reached level 17 on board after the second fight. You have no equipment, the skills are all rubbish and the hit points aren't nearly enough. What do you think about that?

Do you mean the fight against the mad tech-priests and servitors? If yes, then it's optional - just leave it for later and go somewhere else.

It's definitely very rough, and should've been placed in a further-out system if you ask me. As it stands, it feels kind of like a "Haha, should've just skipped this and come back later" trap.. But what can ya do?

It's one of those fights where you kinda need to work with the boss's mechanics, i recommend stacking buffs on a tanky melee guy like adelard (especially prone immunity if you have it) and having him just stand in the boss's melee range while you kill the adds. By that point I had a heroic that i used on Adelard and he crushed the boss almost single-handedly with it, and by that point you can manage to use other peoples' attacks too. Honestly it felt less busted balance-wise compared to the guy at the end of act 1, and you can't just put off that one until you're at a higher level.

Yeah that fight is extremly ridicoulus. You can´t get the voxcaster down before they buff everyone? Oh too bad. Everyone is practicaly immune now.
And apperantly "Everyone witihin touching range" means the whole room.

It's optional, but it's not as hard as it seems. You have to destroy those invisible things first, I forget what they're actually called. They give the other enemies stacking temporary wounds. You should be able to squeak by at 17, that's when I did it.

all of my frontline melee got one shot on turn 1 before any of my guys could move '3'

really lame since it has you slowly trek through most of it with no autosave. I just clicked back to the begining because it was a dead end so i thought i must have opened up a door earlier, or i could just leave, but instead i got a fight back at the generators.

i beat it. on normal my first go. its not to hard depending on your skill choice and team comp, Again your team comp and skill choice matter, if you have ZERO tanks, Zero buffers or debuffers, and just all snipers or something. Yea its gonna be hard. But maybe thats the game telling you to reevaluate your skill choices?? He did down 3/6 of my team, but than again if you lose did you try a ne strategy?? if you bunch up your troops your gonna fail many more boss fights in future. hell not even boss fights but just some random encounters too.

I had a harder time with aurora due to my bad skill choices and respecced afterwards and had much easier time

if you are talking about the "Drifting Voidship" then yes it needs re-balancing since it is only 2 jumps from starter system...
just.dont.do.it Dec 12, 2023 @ 2:51pm
It's not terribly hard. You also don't need to necessarily charge through enemies, you might as well let them come for you - map allows you to hide from snipers pretty well. 35 temporary wounds buff is sure annoying, but hardly very imposing. A good sniper crit will hit for much more, and that's just one attack.

Forgefiend has pretty low accuracy, so you have plenty of approaches with it too.

No, if I could beat that fight, anyone can, just build party synergies.
No need to rebalance,

Well, in the second try I killed the cattle.
Team: My Char as sniper, Argenta (The useless Bolter Queen) Heinrix as Tank, Arbelad and Pasqal. I simply distributed all the characters around the room. Cassia, with her warp skills, killed the thing alone while the others simply soaked up the damage.

I’m one up from normal, but I managed. It was one of the hardest fights for me so far. Got it on second try. (The middle fight / one before the boss).

This is around the time I figured out that the buffs your psyker and navigator put out are baller :p. My boy abe took two of those servitors on while everyone else went ham on the other two servitors / shooters.

(I did kill most of the wall buffer things, but I had no way to kill them all with one of them being ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROOM.) any of my damages would have died trying to get to it lol.

Focus fire won that fight. And buffs, and Abe being a boss (with some med pack help)

The robo beast is way harder than the chaos marine was. Even after looking at his buffs I don't know how this boss works. He seems to be able to area attack whenever someone hits him. But there is no effect on him that would allow it.

I needed a complete makeover, since I was stupid and brought Jae along instead of Cassia, since I wanted to see what she can do - very little without gear. Her 2-6 damage pea shooter doesn't cut it, although the sword is nice. Also, a slightly different placement helped.

The fight with the heralds of corruption a few rooms earlier was a cakewalk compared to the robo beast. Due to the darn servitor in the way it took too long to get Argenta into position to perforate him. With Cassia and knowing what would happen I managed to win. Barely, but a win is a win. Pity the RT cannot be a navigator himself.

The chaos tech-priest ship?

Easy peasy, didn't have any trouble with it.

Only issue was the stupid HP boosting speakers, which are a bit of a pain to target. Tbh, in the big fight, they got their turns so fast it was quicker to burn through the fake HP and kill things than bother destroying the speakers.

I think if you're struggling there, it's a good implication that your builds are crap.

In the beta at least, the robo-beastie got an extra retaliation attack every time he's hit after the first attack on a turn.

So swing at him ONCE, with something powerful, then leave him the hell alone and just hope your tank can hold him off while the rest of your team focuses elsewhere, repeat until he's wounded enough to bring down in one massive burst.

I haven't made it to him in the launch version yet, rerolling coupled with finding the rooms before him with the HP boosting speakers a nightmare not worth wading through.
