same, i was visiting the station before having the quest, the dude killed himself and i couldn't do nothing of it, now that i have the quest and went bag to it he's just in A and i can't interact

Edit: So much dislike in fact, I actually figured out how to do it. See where fury will get you lol? And going by the result of quoted keywords in google, I might actually be the first person on the internet to have done so.

So this is what you wanna do. First, in toybox you want to go to the quests tab, and make sure the tiny box near the top that says “hide completed” is not checked, and all the others are checked. You wanna go down to “persona non grata”, and hit the arrow next to “failed”. Next to “objective 00001 visit adeptusamasecus_errand” there’ll be a button to press on the right side of “inspect”. This will restart the quest.

Then you want to go back up to the top, go to the “etudes” tab (whatever tf that means, glad I get to voice my opinion on that weird ass name, I’m sure it’s a coding term or something), search “jaeincanteena”, no quotes. Make sure you’re searching it in the search bar, and not under where it says “areas”.

You see how all of the sections say “complete/unstart” except for the last one that just says “unstart”? Click that one.

Walk back into the bar (at the “The Martyr’s Endurance” in the Shadow Quarters section of Footfall, in the Furibundus system (first system Im the game) in case you forgot), go to the barkeep (Octaviana) and the cutscene should play. You’re good from there.

I hope this helps people who’ve missed her quest (I honestly don’t know who both has missable companions and doesn’t inform you that their quest is timed, but whatever) and I hope it potentially furthers knowledge on how to manipulate quests in Toybox.

Here’s to someone playing this game X years from now in the state it should’ve been released in.

The line referenced here is found at the very bottom of the rows that appear after clicking the Failed and Inspects arrow on the Persona Non Grata quest. That is where the "Restart" button is available next to a line about "obective 00001." I wasted so much time checking the rows that appeared for a button before I scrolled all the way down and noticed my error.

That being said, I still can't find Jae in the canteena (or anywhere) after restarting, so not a full success yet.

This worked.

1. Took a while to figure out that button next to inspection was actually a button, playing on a 4k 48" monitor doesnt help.
2. on the etudes tab , i had to click unstart and start to make it work.
