Psy rating, how high does it go and are there other ways to increase it other than the talents ?
Currently playing a pyromance psyker (currently at chapter 1 just recruited the inquisitor and also at psy rating 1), and I'm wondering if my psyker will be able to keep up with the harder enemies, will it get better ? Because it seems I have done little to no damage wih my psy abilities. Should I utilise the talent that increases my psy rating by 1 when I'm on fire ?

Haven't played a psyker myself yet. But i heard second hand that they tend to be weak early on but can become extremely powerful later.

There are several talents later on that increase your Psy Rating conditionally. Like do X, you get +1 PR until end of combat. They're pretty easy to stack and higher level psykers do mad work on the enemies. I'm just sad that your main character psyker is always going to be the weakest psyker in your party, because the Diviner always gets a free +1 PR from being unsactioned.

Yeah she will be a bit stronger as a unsactioned psyker but I'm triggering so much perils of the warp with her, at least my psyker is more stable, at least stable as a psyker can get.

Yeah, but she does even more damage when she treats the veil like wet toilet paper. Except when she explodes her own head.

Sanctioned psykers do make a good and useful base for building various different classes. And you could always use the Navigator to repair the veil for 5-10 points every turn if they want to.

The Navigator does seem strong so far and I'm really enjoying the amount of unique talents she has.

Let's see. Standard Psy Rating runs from 0 to 4. At the Exemplar tier I believe you can take a Psychic Awakening, becoming Unsanctioned and gaining another Psy Rating for 5. However this might be a bit of a poor call, depending on your morality Conviction, as there's an item called Eyes of Joyeuse, a helmet which pumps your Psy Rating by +1 against Daemons, and, crucially, by another +1 per rank of Dogmatic.

So a Sanctioned Psyker, maxing Dogmatic, can reach Psy Rating 9, 10 for offensive powers targeting a Daemon. A Sanctioned Psyker who prefers another moral approach but can stomach taking Dogmatic to 2 (the max you can get if you take another Conviction past 3) can still reach Psy Rating 6, or 7 when firing off a power at a Daemon.

Nice, I'm doing a dogmatic playthrough so that is good to know. Thanks for the information I will be sure to get that helmet.

Every 10 levels you can increase your psy rating by +1 if you invest in it. And then other stuff as mentioned can raise it.

reached Act4, let's say vendors/reputation have way way more stuff.

and some gear does improve Psy rating quite a lot.

there is a
+2 psy helm
+2 staff
torso and glove giving +1 (stacking) everytime a warp anomaly happens

there's definitely lot of ways to scale psy rating through the roof

i'm sitting at 7 passively on Idira right now.

actually does not work, it says it will awaken one of your companion, with psy rating. but so far at lvl 39 no one was able to take it. maybe need to wait 40 where it's the last Tier of Psy power you can take ? we will see.

but that's the only stuff that remains locked int he choices so far.

add Sanctic passive ... +1 psy rating per character that Ultimate during a battle.

so +6 (fairly easily i should say) you can literally ultimate by turn 3 or so for everyone.

Don't forget Ignite + Orchestrate Flame combo on yourself. It's another +1 PR.

Starmist Scarf for a flat +2 Psy Rating. It also gives you bonus dodge if you wear NO armor, but I don't see the logic in that.

Still...a nice, fat juicy +2 PR with no strings attached in your neck equipment slot beats most Psyker-specific neck items i've found so far.

The scarf is really nice I don't really remember an armor that would increase my psy rating so I did use the scarf and the helmet that would increase my psyrating based on my dogmatic level, unfortunately I couldn't reach dogmatic 5 but still ended up with 9 or 11 psy rating I can't remember, I just wish I could have gathered more conviction points. And with the scarf and high psy rating you can get really high dodge.

If you play a sanctioned psyker you can reach 4 level and with some piece of equipment and being dogmatic zealot it´s possible to reach psy level 12
