I think I found the worst fight of the game.
I'm in some space hulk ruin with mad adeptus mechanicus inside and after turning on the energy, the mechanicus becomes hostile and you get into a fight with them.

The problem is that in the room there's audio devices that are spouting chaos nonsense and gives health to the enemies each turn, and the health is added on top of the enemies maximum health, so there's no cap no how much health the enemies can get.

On top of that, is you run your melee guys on top of the mechanicus priests that use skills and have rifles, they can run to the next room and trigger the next fight in the dungeon, before you can heal and your fallen guys can get up.

It's a gimmicky fight in which you can't do anything before destroying the audio devices and the no cap for the enemy health make it super grindy.

I mean you can technically get in there at lvl 16 if you leave the station and explore and its like the 1st or 2nd stop.

So it is totally unexpected the entire ship. I think it was just challenging cause it is the 1st fight objects give out buffs. Like how are we to know that. And the boss abilities unless you right click and read.

There is just surprising stuff there. Clearing it out o n lvl 16 is completely different then lvl 20.

I thought it was the hardest "dungeon/map" out of all Footfall Station and Janus quests. Like it wasnt even close. If you know whats coming its different. But they should have probably moved this hulk down to a different system. It can certainly soft lock lvls 16-18.

Plus that 1 room I couldnt even find the 1 speaker it was hard as hell to click on or see. I just kited everyone into the back lower right corner and slaughtered them.

Next battle same thing, Kited them into the first room and killed em 1 by 1. The boss was very surprising. I was like WTF. I never played before release date.

I remember this fight from the alpha. Unless it was changed, I found that it was not so bad if you simply stayed in the hallway rather than run into the open to try to destroy everything, Let them come to you and chunk them down piecemeal before advancing into the courtyard. Eventually, the rate at which you kill them will exceed their ability to heal damage.

Turtling is often a viable strategy in games with turn based combat and no time limit. In this case, by luring enemies into the corridor, you can set up kill zones. And the AI is straightforward. The enemies will always come to you if you let them. Even the healing gimmick won't stop your concentrated forces from killing anything that gets close to you.
This. Don't fight in the room, make them come to you and focus each as it pops through the doorway. The fight had me near rage quitting before I changed up my approach. On unfair with the four heralds, its just a pain in the butt to try fighting in the room itself.

Wow, really? The battle on Janus against the governor , for me at least, is way way harder than anything from the hulk. Not because enemies are super strong, but because of stun grenade spam over and over and poor positioning of your own units.

for me the worst fight has to be the drukhari archon, simply because of how over designed it is compared to all the fights you do up till then. On top of that you can not change party at all once the mission starts and you are very limited in ressources, especially if you are unprepared going in. So you can easily end up in a situation where you played for several hours only realise you cant progress past this fight because of your suboptimal buil. If all fights previously are like a 3 or 4 in difficulty you are suddenly hit with a comparative 9 at the very end of a complete slog of a quesltine.

Once Cassia levels up she can stun lock and damage a huge grid. And the 1 talents lets her use the 1st one used each turn again. So you can do that 2 times then the purple AoE thing.

So that is 3 huge AoE. It calls lots of low HP guys and stuns and debuffs the rest.

Then whatever AP she has left she can buff party or if you got 2 ap give a turn to some one else.

And if you got Jae or MC Leader they can use their 2 AP on Cassia and its another AoE.

The group movement talent is so good it moves frakkin turrets lol. Like when I found that out I was like holy crap it even moves.

So you bring groups of enemies to your melee guys then move the group away for AoO. And move them back so melee guys can do areas attacks.

I do feel like you gotta go Heinie Warp Speed or a Sniper though to counter act enemy snipers just cause they are so far away. Its a pain in the arese to run em down.

Oh I see, I built Cassia as a regular officer, didn't used her Navigator skills too much. Thanks for the info, I will respec her and try more stuff.

Yeah, that fight was certainly a spike in difficulty. The boss fight can be pretty easy if you drop a tank with anti-prone in front of the hellbeast to keep it busy and stay ranged otherwise. At first, I wondered if I had hit that ship too early and was under-levelled but it's really just a matter of grinding it out.
I just noped out, will come back later or not at all. Not fun to sit there not being able to take the casters out on turn one before the ineveitable double stacking shields which become unmanageable. Not fun in the slightest and probably won't ever go back there.

I used Argenta to kill the tech priests and my main character dealing damage to the tech priests too. My tank I used to hold down the servitors and used officers to give multiple turns to Argenta so she could wreak havoc.

I ignored the heralds and just dealt damage like crazy. The fight was a slogfest not gonna lie, but it was not that hard. I think I won this fight with my party on level 17(?), I know for sure I leveled up after it.

Yes, but other than insane damage and/or prone, the forgefiend is a little ♥♥♥♥♥ that dies super fast.

That fight was great and i had to realy think about strategy there. God i love this game soooo much.... so complex and amazing. And that some fights dont even happen when you got different convictions.... its a gem of a game.

Was difficult for me. My guys were already bashed up by the point you get to the 2nd room full of servo skulls and vox casters. Fell one by one, got stuck in a rut since the last man standing was Abelard and he basically can't die, had one servitor left with several skulls up, which kept healing it. Had to abandon the fight because it was going nowhere. This fight actually got me to appreciate how badly I've managed my characters stats, specifically the trader's. I restarted the game.

The guys never ran into the second room to trigger another fight for me the second room was slightly different in that there were three vox casters to remove but the enemies were so tightly packed it was even easier to control them and aoe bombard them while a fast melee took out the vox caster on the right (pasqal for me) and ranged took out the other 2 vox casters in 2 turns.

The real ♥♥♥♥♥ was the final fight in that place. Next to no cover and enemy gets a free attack every time you hit it. Which is also an AoE.

Eh, actually damaging them can be pretty difficult as they also gain the barrier, in the one room with all 3 of them it took till turn 4 to kill even one so i just gave up on destroying them.
