True (remembering crazy builds from Pathfinder 1, when used Jaethal as main tank with 1 starting lvl in Inquisitor and 19 lvls in Warrior/Tower Shield Specialist... Because she is unique undead and tanked most harm spells + didn't literaly explode from over-damage in the face)
Still, companions fixed lvls and archetypes can be explained by "authors vision" and game lore...
But MC is an wildcard we can manipulate to get most unique experience from different walkthroughs...
Not many people would play the same story (like Heretic only) just to test some gear they couldn't use with their current build
Because game let us to make some crazy builds
Like got 15 lvl Biomancer/Warrior with 75 parry, 117 dodge with no combat buffs stats (dodged everything like a Neo, but didn't help much vs Aurora/sniper) (Forge World - Locomotion System)
Or going for another build for Biomancer/Warrior with max hp/armor and synergy perks (to test it on Aurora fight) (Forge World - Subskin armor)
No, it's just me =)
I am a huge fan of hard tanks around dodge/armor builds, and here biomancers are the best for it (they are like paladins... heal/buff/psyker perks... and Deathworld MC can get bonus agility/willpower from injuries, means even more dodge chance and stronger heals)...
I am sure, there are many others who picked their own poison and try to test it limits =)
toybox you can do level 0 which allows you to respec the archtype. Not any of the origin stuff.
