NEED HELP - PROLOGUE ICONOCLAST PATH
I'm stuck in the Prologue. Yeah. Didn't take long.

On the upper deck, you can make your first choice between the 3 paths. I want to go the Iconoclast route. However, afterwards, when I click the icon to shoot down debris in order to create a new bridge to an alternate route, there is no way to make my way across it. I've seen videos where other players get a different pathing opening up to them. The debris drops, but my path is slightly different and blocks me from traversing. Is this intentional? Is it possible my party cannot make the requisite roll to drop the debris correctly? If so, it's a bad decision, as it will force me to load a previous save and choose a path (i.e. Dogmatic) that I do not want to choose to work my away around it. Has anyone figured out was is happening?

Not sure how to post an image, but if you click the link here and scroll down to the Iconoclast portion of the walk-through for the Prologue, it should ring a bell if you've gotten past it yourself;

Yes. Even critical skill checks you should be able to pull them off. If you fail you need to reload. But basically the Iconoclast Path is the correct. And you should see the location to click on. What did you do different from everyone?

Really not sure. But I've reloaded at least 20 times to retry and still the same result. Did everything right till then. Maybe my starting stats are too low (rolled Warrior and took a minus 5 to perception, maybe that's it). But the debris that falls, falls just like everyone else only it is blocked on both ends. Not getting on, over or off. It's a frustrating blockage with no workaround. Bad implementation in my opinion.

So, just restarted the Prologue with different stats (namely Perception) and the debris that fell was no longer blocked for me. So yeah. If your main took a minus 5 hit to perception due to background choices in character creation, looks like it'll effect your entire party's chance to drop the debris in such a way as it falls to let you across when choosing Iconoclast.

Not really on topicand I'm probably too late since your last post was an hour or so ago, but I just replayed the first part of the game to do a more optimal Iconoclast playthrough. Here's some hints to get a better narrative over the game, it appears, after stumbling upon an alternative path in post tutorial fight. Then reading up on a article thereafter:

Simply put when you take down the tutorial boss. Loot everything on the Heir's bones EXCEPT the blade shard. This provokes a unique scene right after meeting the officers on the bridge at the start of Chapter 1. This scene also gives extra conviction dialogue and points based on your decision. Here there is an Iconoclast option that directs Janris to keep the shard for safe keeping, to give to the Inquisitor Heinrix later. This means you don't carry it personally and thus don't slowly get corrupted/tormented by it and instead, can be studied later for Iconosclast goodness based on what I was reading.

Actually I think everyone should probably go that route just for the extra conviction, save for maybe Imperialis. :)

Also pick the option "Do your Worst." It's an Iconoclast "hope" condition for prologue.
