Like, why is there no option here to respond with something psyker specific? It's just begging for it.
It honestly feels like Owlcat originally had no interest in including psykers as an origin due to basically what Inquisitor boy is saying here but then pivoted due to player popularity, but they half assed that pivot. Would have been better if there wasn't a psyker option if it's just done so jarringly.
Story wise, it makes no sense that a Rogue Trader would even be able to track the existence of a psyker relative through the vast bureaucracy of the Adepta, let alone demand them from one of the few organisations who can tell a Rogue Trader to GFY. Should have left it as an NPC only option really apart from psychic awakening.
The amount of effort they've put into designing their own combat and level system (neither of which bear any relationship to the TT) compared to the non-combat parts of the game is striking. Ships, trading, colonies, non-combat quests etc are all so bare bones and half-arsed.
Yeah I agree, tho honestly I find the entire premise kinda dumb psyker or no. I especially dislike the retcon of there somehow only being 3 rogue traders in the Koronus. Plus the narrative focus on a grand epic plot is just such a waste when it comes to the Rogue Trader setting.
