Lower Deck Valves

So I noticed a pipe in the lower decks during the seneschals companion mission that said there was something inside and I needed to examine the pipe to get it. The only things ive seen when holding tab are a bunch of valves that I can't interact with in any way. Is this bugged or just misleading?

You have to go into the room behind the rabble after solving the issue there, then pass a check and it will start a little puzzle. It leads to some loot in the end, nothing important but it's a fun little distraction.

Hmm, the check will allow you to turn the valve underneath the check itself, that starts the puzzle, allowing you to start using the valves, but if that broke too you might want to report it. Might be a multiplayer bug as well, it's worked fine for me in both beta and release, but it is in a single player game.

You need to do the valves in a certain order. Everytime you do one, the Steam should move to another valve. just keep following the steam.

Okay so I loaded a save and checked all around the lower decks and I couldn't find what you're talking about here, so either I failed the second check to notice how to interact with the valves or it's bugged. Kinda frustrating that I can't tell which it is.

this annoyed me too.. you have to wait until you resolve the event and then you'll find a valve you can interact with that activates the other valves

for what it is worth I found only: 3 grenades , 3 lockpicks , 3 demolition charges

so steel yourself from FOMO if you mucked it up !

For what it's worth I had actually stopped playing for a bit after doing the first check around, and when I tried again I finally found it. You are right it's not quite worth it, but at least the frustration is gone.
