then I slowly realized that you actually have to kill him. I figured out that he's pretty much only weak to psykers. Auto-stack exploits with your operatives (psyker, techpriest companions), then the psyker blast. This is now my go-to strategy for chapter 2
Secondly, it is kinda hard, as you do need to outfit your people a certain way. You need high armour piercing weapons, and use everything you have. Certain things are easier, psykers/navigator powers are great, and makes things a lot easier, but easily done either way.
Plasma, grenades, make sure to spread out, stack up everything you can possibly stack up. The CSM is a superhuman of insane levels. It's not meant to be easy.
You're basically losing a third of your party each turn, one to the csm and the other to the sniper, unless you get lucky and the sniper misses a shot or something.
The fastest I can kill the sniper is 3-4 turns with my own sniper it seems. Meanwhile Aurora just runs around kicking people into walls or spraying them with heavy bolter fire.
I'm already stacking armor pen, trying to stack exploit (trying because usually Pasqal is a favourite for Aurora to murder turn 1) and throwing krak grenades at this guy.
same, it seems vary unbalanced, I have been able to stomp almost EVERY fight in the game uptill this point, and now... litterally 0 chance I can win this.
He always starts and kills atleast 1 member of my party.
I dont stand a chance
I guess that game wanted me to level, up more somehow, because i Have 0 chance Nada zero :D
Once the sniper is dealt with and you survived the first round, try to always have someone (preferably at least 2) in melee with the chaos marine. His melee attacks are strong but at least they don't instakill and if you stand on his corners he shouldn't be able to hit more than one character per attack. Also make sure to focus on debuffing him. The techpriest has a unique ability that reduces the target's damage by 30% so that will help, and don't forget your medkits either.
By the way, where do you fight 2 chaos spawns? I never encountered that and I thought I explored everything. Unless you have to do something heretical to trigger it maybe.
nah dude, even if he does not kill me in 1 hit, he couter attacks. and kills me.. there is no chance
You need all the preparation you can get.
the game "fails" to warn you, It does say are you sure you want to continue, But then it throws enemys that are no stronger than those you have been fighting the last 6 hours, untill you meet an "impossible boss that always starts and kill you in 1 turn.
sad
Tbh the sniper took out more of my squad than the CSM though.
i even managed to kill an extra warp spawn in that fight.
Hint, kill the sniper asap, debuff (if applicable) the space marine.
Use and if applicable, use extra turn on your Operatives, to apply Exposure and consume them with Knowledge skill (if you picked it) but really as an operative you should pick that upgrade.
+2% armor to ALL team per stack removed and +1 damage to your own attacks if you remove 4 or more.
it removes up to 30 at once, so you can boost your survivability by quite a lot just spamming that skill as often as possible with your operatives (Pasqual and Idra)
Another option is just leaving the marks on the space marine... and use a big hit with one of the operative to delete as much HP as you can in one go.
but yeah with higher difficulty ... the real HARD as hell fights are indeed the boss, they are extremely unfair.
most of the time in act 2, i had to delay coming back to a much much later date with better gear, the Daemon Machine thing in like the first Space hulk you find literally one shot my tank with 50+ damage, and i have 38hp ... so yeah sucks.
Just send Abe, the tech priest, and the inquisitor in to melee him. Sister had a sniper rifle and took out the enemy sniper.
Had the navigator and my PC as officers giving out lots of extra attacks and buffs from cover.
Pasqal's machine spirit communion ability really helps negate the heavy bolter. The additional recoil makes bursts far less accurate.
Round 1 everyone focused Pasqal, he was my main melee damage man, and sniped him out.
I focused the CSM, got him down then took my revenge on the remaining people.
That one sniper killed 5/6 of my team lol holy, hopefully the gods gave that guy an award or something because he was the real MVP of that fight.
Yeah I learned to hate snipers real quick, took the talent on both my officers to take a free turn at the start of combat. Use that to give bonus turns to my sister and her sniper rifle. She can usually pick a sniper off before anyone else gets to act.
