Argent is a DAUGHTER OF THE EMPEROR NOT A BRIDE.
I've seen this argument made several times, "she's married to the Emperor". No she isn't. The "Brides of the Emperor" were created by Goge Vandire from the original daughters of the Emperor using deception and various lies.

After his reign of terror and blood came to an end they reverted back to the "Daughters of the Emperor", who while religious zealots do not see themselves as married to the Emperor in any capacity. They're also not celibate, they've been known to marry and have children.

The reason she isn't a romance options appears to be because GW banned Owlcat for whatever reason from making her one.

That would be brilliant.

"Yes I do have.. feelings for you.... perhaps we could speak again.. in private."

You talk to her again in a later chapter or something and she goes; "finally a moment of privacy... ever since I met you I wish to speak to you.. about our lord and savior of Mankind."

Members of the Astra Militarum dont serve for their entire lives. They often have years between musters, and are often given worlds to settle after a campaign. That is very very different from the lives of a member of the Adepta Sororitas. They serve the Echlisiarchy and do not "Retire" or have much downtime between deployments. Especially orders like Our Martyred Lady, which sends sisters into some of the fiercest fighting across the Imperium, with little downtime.

Its not to say its entirely impossible, but the lifestyle of a Sororitas is pretty regimented and ascetic. They aren't going to be likely to form a long lasting emotional relationship with a random novice Rogue Trader amidst the middle of some sort of Chaos plot.

Besides, again, not every companion needs to be romancable.

I've got to ask where are you getting this information?

By all the black library book, Astra Millitarum is for life(they are literally a tax applied to planets). They are either fighting or resupplying(which doesn't take years). Settle worlds only happens only if a regiment is no longer viable, the imperium has "reclaimed" a world and it is deemed in need of a regiment. The funny thing is the Sororitas do have time between musters.

Also they do "retire" in the same way that guard do, by being transferred into non-front line work like training.

lol, random rogue trader? So the religious character would think that a person appointed by her god to bring his light into the dark reaches is just some random trader?

Mild spoiler ahead

Of course the real joke is if you actually talk to her in game one of the first things she tells you is she is not a orders militant.

Try reading the first book in the Uriel Ventris series. The planet it takes place on is one that was gifted to a regiment at the end of a campaign to settle. Its also mentioned multiple times in the Eisenhorn series. And in the Cain books. And in the Gaunts Ghosts books. If a campaign is completed it is often that a world is given to the regiment(s) that took part in the fighting. There have been instances (See Eisenhorn) of entire SYSTEMS being given over to accomplished regiments. And yes the resupplying DOES indeed often take years. Void travel itself even through the warp between systems can take years alone.

Also you will see I used quotation marks around the word Retire. Yes. They can be reassigned to non combat roles. There are instances of Sororitas members settling down at that point, but the sister in question here is very young. So its Apples to Oranges anyway.

Also she explicitly tells you in that same dialogue chain that despite not being Ordos Militant, ALL branches of the Soroitas from the Sisters Hospitaller to the Dialogous fight. This is seen in nearly every SoB book written. Its not that dissimilar to a Space Marine being assigned to the Apothecarion or the Librarius. So that's a moot point altogether.

And on the subject of their downtime between deployments, Her Order (Our Martyred Lady) is specifically known for having very short spans of time between deployments. Even before the death of Saint Kathrine when they were known as the Order of the Fiery Heart, they were well known for their near relentless pursuit of combat in the name of the Emperor. It has in fact nearly exhausted the orders ranks on multiple occasions.

Right, so the cain book, Gaunt and one shot have it happen when the conditions I mentioned previously. Hell I even admit I didn't think of gifted by a space marine, which can't happen often. As for resupply in the gaunts, cain and one shot books it takes a couple of month. With both gaunt and cain series having resupply done multiple time when they leave one war zone to head to another, so days.

Apples and oranges what?

She says she fights when she needs to, not that she goes from battlefield to battlefield.

But you know what lets just say you win, I'd rather be playing the game than geeksplaining.

Considering the lore and the world building, I'm happy GW didn't let some blue-haired developer drag our glorious sister down a road of debauchery and darkness. She's still my fav regardless.

Nah, I heard GW didn't mind but Argenta's writer doesn't like/do romance so. They wrote Regil iirc.

Blue haired? What an insult…
