Most do, however. Especially for that pricing, sometimes even less. Homeworld 3 being the first one that comes to mind on a whim.
The current outrage is, however, that the devs are making it sound like that they put in a season pass last minute, which nobody in their right mind is going to believe anyway. Something like that takes time and may or may not be cut content that needs more time to cook, who knows.
Personally, I saw that coming a mile away as it was expected due to Owlcat's way of things. I honestly wouldn't be suprised if another season pass is coming along, whenever DLC2 launches. Not that big of a deal in one way but kinda scummy in another.
While I understand that the appetite comes with the meal, please be reasonable, the studio has already gifted the new item packs from digital stores to the founders automatically.
More credits names will be added gradually over the upcoming patches, as many people have either forgot to add their credits name at all, did it too late, or provided offensive/trademarked names. Please leave a ticket on discord if yours doesn't appear in 1.01 and 1.02 patch.
It's quite unreasonable to call your most loyal supporters unreasonable for being rightfully upset at you for screwing them over. You sold a $100 supporter pack on your site that didn't include the season pass. And now you're selling a $100 pack on Steam that does include it. You knew that there was going to be a season pass months in advance, probably already when you took the game idea to the drawing board, so that excuse doesn't fly either.
A quick reminder that when we bought the game on your site months, you got 100% of the sale, minus maybe payment processing costs, which are nearly as much as the 30% cut that Steam takes. We supported you because we're long-time fans and wanted to support you financially. And you turn around, spit on us and then have the audacity to call us unreasonable when we point it out. We were your most loyal supporters and you're treating us like second rate citizens.
I really recommend that Owlcat rethinks whether this is the company image you want to present. You're welcome to continue treating us like we're just ingrates. But we won't forget it the next time you have a Kickstarter or preorders up on your site.
Harsh russian stoicism has no times for this crap.
Don't want to bootlick here but the people who pay $100 or $300 for this game do it for their support of the developers, they shouldn't demand any reward for that.
Developer's pack included another set of items (Founder's pack) not available in the digital store release editions, and offered a year-long early access to Alpha and Beta versions of the game. It has an even higher value and was never advertised to contain anything else.
While we are willing to gift our players where we can - and we do, by including the items from the digital store editions automatically for founders - we can't just give out everything for free. I'm sorry. You have already received more than you were promised, and still demand extra, in a rather offensive manner. Thus I once again ask, please be reasonable.
Alright, so you've picked how you want to treat your loyal customers.
No worries. I'll remember that for future Owlcat games. From now on only on sale years after release. Doing myself a favor, really, when I consider how your third game is also ridiculously buggy, despite having a months-long beta period.
Loyal costumers don't ask for no favor because they peddle out $100.
Get lost.
I'm not asking for "favors". An apology and a promise to do better in the future would have sufficed for me.
Also, I don't recall that anyone asked for your opinion, so you're in no position to tell anyone to get lost. You don't even own the game.
That is favor.
And my opinion is mine to give, go cut off my fingers or stay silence, buck.
EDIT: Own the game on GOG, you want proof?
Kudos to owlcat for standing its ground! The god emperor will be proud of you taking a stand against the chaos cultists and dark eldars attempting to batter down your doors and raid your reserves!
