Line of Sight bugged
After the opening, I went to the Starport on Rykad Mynoris. I've had two fights so far: the first when you leave the landing pad, the second when crossing the bridge to the south of the pad. In both fights, the enemy ranged chars have repeatedly hit my chars who are in heavy cover and behind Line-of-Sight blocking features like shipping containers. When I try to fire back I am told that the target is not in Line of Sight.

It's infuriating - how can something so obviously wrong have made it past QA to release?

Otherwise I'm enjoying everything else. But I'm having to rely on RNG and save-scum through every fight.

Yeah pretty much only melee is viable at the moment particularly in higher difficulties and at different elevations due to LoS restrictions otherwise you'll have to skip many turns while taking fire without being able to return it.

I suspect there are differences in LoS code for NPC's and the player as I've tested both being fired at by the sniper on this map, while being unable to fire back with the positions reversed and using a sniper rifle and from what I can tell, you are more vulnerable with elevation than the AI, and the AI appears to either use static range value for LoS, or the pathfinding script automatically moves to odd positions where LoS is allowed

Im doing that fight right now and having the exact same issue... this game is Jank AF. I wanted a challenge instead im being scammed, Enemy long gunners just sitting 2 screens away shooting through walls and shipping containers, 2 shotting me with burst fire. coooool

This entire encounter is a great example, if you attempt to take high ground you're going to get smoked by every ranged unit and be unable to attack

Oh, that fight had bonus bugs for me. The sniper on the highest platform just bugged out completely and did nothing all fight - even when I was two squares away blasting him over and over.

It'd be nice if they fix it quick: though I've pretty much adapted now.

But it's still annoying AF sometimes. Just can't use terrain/height/cover how I normally would in games like this.

I have this issue only in large arenas. Eg. Rycard Minoris starport section, but for example warehouse or sewers worked as intended. Than in the Mechanicum I had no issue, untill huge boss arena where I was again peppered by las-guns on ranges and through cover, my own las-gun character could not fire back.

It's doubly perplexing that grenades follow the same LoS rules so in the screenshot above I was unable to hit anyone with a grenade as well

I have the same issue, really annoying. The enemy goons just all focusing fire on one character no matter where they stand and killing one party member each turn.

In addition to all that has been said: do you guys also have massive issues with determining your sightlines? I'm playing with controller and that adds to the jank. But I almost never get red sightlines indicators. I can put characters in front of five enemies and there will be no sightlines. As far is can I see there is no way to determine sighlines of inactive party members at all. This game has really motivated me and pulled me in but the combat is in alpha stage at best IMHO. On the starport map I have spent more time in the bug report window than playing the game.

Can confirm on my game that sightlines are SUPER bugged. I was in one fight in the beginning area Ryker Minoris (sp?), and all of the following happened during a single fight:

- red lines not showing up when they are supposed to indicate firing range
- not being able to target companions with buffs "no sightline" despite having obvious sightline with nothing interfering, moving one square to the side fixes
- enemies being able to shoot through cover (from below a bridge even!) and from CRAZY far away, I cannot do the same, so it takes me 4 turns of just moving and getting hit with bullets to get within range
- grenades seem to be totally worthless "no line of sight" when it should be obvious that there is
- just generally constant "no line of sight" errors everywhere when there clearly shouldn't be.

This thread just saved me from questioning my sanity.

As with the OP I am the same - at the Starport with the soldiers and rebels and no matter where i hide my characters or what i did to break LoS with the terrain i am being blasted by Lasguns on auto and getting peppered constantly. Only managed to complete the encounter on Easy after 5 attempts because the enemy wasted half their own guys with FF.

Well over a full screen away standing in the open and blasting me through the shipping containers and sandbags without issue. Container is full cover and sandbags are half so i expect the odd hit there but not the others that fully break LoS.

As for the whole the enemy can see me through walls and i cant see them in return thats just a whole other joke.

EDIT - there seems to be no mention of this in the known bugs part of the game discussion........

Same for me = Electrondynamic Cenobium - my sniper is hit by three enemy snipers but i cannot shoot anyone of them .....
