Co-op: FAQ & Known Issues
HOW CO-OP WORKS IN THE GAME

Thorough information on how the CO-OP mode works in the game, is available here:
https://steamcommunity.com/games/2186680/announcements/detail/3905246507039783843?snr=2_9_100003_

The game starts with just one character, what do I do as a non-host player? How do I create custom characters?

Up to two additional players can have their characters created by talking to the Mercenary Steward in the very first room as you start the game.

4 more companions will join the aspiring Lord Captain within the first hour of the story.

Later on, you will be able to create more custom characters via the mercenary system on the bridge.

To do so, the control over Lord Captain, as the only active character on the bridge, must be transferred to the player who wants to create a mercenary character. They then have to talk to the High Factotum Janris Danrock.

Additional content compatibility

Host will automatically share all cosmetic content (Deluxe Pack, preorder rewards etc.) with the other players, so that they can play together. Note however, that if a non-host player would like to continue the same save offline or become a host themselves, they must own an identical set of cosmetic packs to launch that save.

This does not include paid DLCs - if you will try to join a game with a different set of paid DLCs, the game will show an error message and offer you to obtain them first.

Co-op on console

Not available at launch, however, we plan to add it later. Current ETA is around December 2024.

Crossplay

It is currently possible to play on PC between Steam, GOG and EGS in any combination, using the server ID.

Mac will only connect to Mac, with the following additional limitations:

1. Mac Steam will only connect to Mac GOG if GOG was launched directly without GOG Galaxy.
2. Mac Steam will not connect to Mac EGS or GOG launched through GOG Galaxy.
3. Mac EGS will connect to Mac GOG only if GOG was launched through GOG Galaxy.

Crossplay for MSStore/Xbox Game Pass version is not supported.

Can the game be played via LAN?

Unfortunately not. Only online.

Does the Co-op mode could also be local?

My name is missing from the credits, despite me having paid for the edition that comes with that feature. What gives?

Known issue. Supposed to be fixed in 1.0.2

I don't seem to be getting most achievements... a lot of things I physically had to do through the first chapter and I haven't gotten them.

The problem is the versions on GoG and Steam are not the same. At least they weren't when I played with my friend last night. Specifically, the problem is the GoG co-op version is 1.0.62a-0.0.1 and the game version is 1.0.62.390 while the Steam version is 1.0.62-0.0.1 and 1.0.62.389 respectively.

To fix this, the player on GoG need only roll back their version to 1.0.62.389. In order to do this, go to Rogue Trader on GoG Galaxy and press the button to the right of the "Play" button > Manage Installation > Configure... > uncheck "Automatically update to newest version" > select "Version Windows 1.0.62.389". Assuming there have been no updates for either client since yesterday, you should now be able to play together.

To verify, check that your version numbers match. You can see the co-op version in the lower right in the co-op menu.

Tried to play co-op last night on steam and found that there was a delay in actions (moving, selecting, combat) that kept growing longer and longer before those actions would take place. This seemed to happen at an incredibly quick rate and effected both me and the host. My leaving the co-op session immediately fixes the issue for the host and the delay disappears.

Unfortunately until this is fixed we are unable to take advantage of this new feature.

That's the problem listed in the OP.

Additional content compatibility problem

Currently, the game requires the player with the minimal additional content to be the host, otherwise the game won't launch, signalling about lack of DLCs. This includes the preorder packs such as Deluxe, Voidfarer or Founder's, which makes it a bit inconvenient.

We are addressing this in the nearest patch: the host will always share all their DLCs automatically once the change is live. Until the patch is live, workaround is the host needs to simply turn off the excess DLCs in Steam interface by removing the checkers in Properties -> Additional content.

does co-op character customization supposed to allow you to customize everything like one when you start a new game and you go through the character creation proccess?

Everything except for "Triumph" and "Darkest Hour". However these are mostly for flavor. Triumphs give you a +5 bonus to a skill and darkest hours give a -5 penalty. You also don't get to pick a voidship for obvious reasons.
