Can't get past first mission
I really wanted to like this game, but I cannot get past the very first part of the game. Just after you speak to the Sentinel Abelguy gives you some weapons and a med-kit. I am at full health so I can't use the kit, I equip the weapons and armor but when I try to leave he doesn't let me until I 'use his healing'. I created multiple characters, tried getting injured first in the lame fight just before (but the game puts me at full health in the cutscene). Bros I was so excited to play this but now I am just angry, such a stupid bug in a $50usd game. Any ideas?

You can't use the medkit without the Medicae skill. But he can use it on you.

If i remember correctly, you have to switch to the other character and use his healing skill, not yours.

You have to have Abelard heal you with the medkit to get rid of your injury. You wont be able to use medkits until you level up medicae once.

Its clearly stated "on Screen" as Prologue Statement: Click on 2nd character Abelard and use his healing Kit, he has the Medicae skill.
Clearly stated on screen.

This makes no sense though, every character has this skill, it's right there on the skills screen. My protagonist actually has Medicae at 40 while Abelard has it at 30.

p.s. also when I tried, that dude failed the skill check 4 times in a row and used up both medkits, had to reload lol.

I used Abelard to heal me but the mission froze on 'find a weapon'. I had the sword and pistol and armour he gave me, plus my commissar armour and chain sword. I kept the chainsword and commissar armour equipped and equipped the pistol - but the mission didn't advance.

I tried various things to get it to advance, like dropping my whole inventory and picking it up to reequip myself - no joy.

Abelars has a talent/leat that lets him use a medkit.

OP, just read the dialogue and tutorial tips.

I fear a lot of people are not cut out for these tipes of games and have no desire or skill anymore to solve a problem independently without following a let's play.

Dude, both the toturial and the medkit tooltip say you need a Medicae skill to use it. EVERYONE has this skill, so either way it is a bug, either in the totoria/tip or the skill.

Irx, you are just wrong. Plain and simple.

Plain and simple, if you don't have anything useful to post - don't.

You have to choose to level medicae at least once before you can use medkits. When you look up the info of a medkit, it gives you the list of three possible pre-reqs that are required to use it. Once you choose to improve medicae upon level up, medkits become available.

I love those old type of games that have you heal a character with full health for the sake of a tutorial
