How are we supposed to know this yet?

Read the descriptions. If anything, it'll be just like WotR.

Gain access to the two upcoming major expansions for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader and save with the bundle price!

1. Void Shadows
(coming June 2024)

The first major story expansion is all about the Rogue Trader's voidship, the life of its crew, and the threats lurking in its holds. Dive into a new epic story integrated into the main narrative, battle new enemies, and recruit a new companion — a death cult assassin. Explore new decks of your voidship, unlock new upgrade options, and master the mechanics of void combat. Meet new members of your crew on the bridge, such as the Astropath, the chirurgeon, and others.
The events of this story will be reflected in the game's epilogue.

This expansion offers 15 hours of gameplay.

2. Lex Imperialis
(coming December 2024)

The second major story expansion sees the Lord Captain join forces with a new companion — a member of the Adeptus Arbites. As the past of House von Valancius begins to present itself in a new light, the Rogue Trader faces difficult decisions that may affect the future of the entire Koronus Expanse.
Over the course of this story, you will get a chance to learn more about the collection of the Imperial Tithe, otherwise known as the Grand Harvesting. Interfere with this fundamental process of the Imperium at your own peril. Discover new areas, game mechanics, and archetypes — and of course, encounter new horrors of the Immaterium.

This expansion likewise offers 15 hours of gameplay.

they actualyl posted about this on there discord. The two expansions will tie into the main story. The devs herd the feedback and are doing things differently than pathfinder.
I think this is a great choice tbh. Now we're have an even larger game.

There's are also potential issues even if it's integrated with the main story. At what point in the main story do those story "expansions" come in and at what point do they become unavailable (if at all)? Unless we plan on not playing the game at all or only as far as the prologue, most players would have progressed far along the storyline by the time the first one comes out.

The first question mainly relates to level. If they are intended for early story progression, then late progression players will be over-leveled for the exansion and the rewards might no longer be relevant. The second question is if there is a "time limit" for those expansions in the form of becoming unavailable after the player has progressed to a certain point in the main storyline. Previous owlcat games (ie pathfinder) had choices that became unvailable once the main story had progressed to a certain point.

Two minor campaigns, but from what I've heard from a few reviewers with hundreds of hours in-game, it'll take over 100 hours to complete the main campaign/story, and that's not on the most extreme setting, as the combat is so frequent and so drawn out (I love combat but not loads of inconsequential enemies on a map requiring 40 mins. to clear them).
So, I will give the Season Pass a hard pass (get it? Nope? Okay …) for some time and the main game, I will happily wait for 6 months for the price to come down. After decades of gaming in Australia, I'm just a little tired of paying the equivalent of two weeks shopping on something that these days I just don't have the time to invest the hours required in. For those with not just the cash but the time, go for it. I hear only good things about this title and wish I could follow you all down the rabbit warren that is Warhammer 40K (my favourite SciFi setting).

P.S Who ever heard of 6 player co-op? I mean, it's not my thing being a single player player, but great for you guys with a bunch of mates (as long as you can all read the apparent walls of text at the same rate).

I will also not buy the game pass.
The issue is that i spent 100+ hour in my 1st playthrough.
I am spending 100+ hours in my second one.

That means i will have 250 hours in the game. At that point i want a new adventure, a DLC or several DLC that allow you to go directly into their stories.

I don't want to go through those 100+ hours again just to play the DLC part.
If in a very distant future i want to go through the game a third time, which is very unlikely, i will buy it.

But i don't get why they don't make a DLC and give the option to play it both ways: integrated in the main story and also as a standalone version.

it's their loss because if the DLC's were standalone i would buy them all.

it's literally the opposite, they are both integrated into the main story, at least so says the description.

From how the DLCs are explained, these are going to be a new world quests like the Janus world quest line. It won't be something incorporated into the main story in any significant way just like in Pathfinder. Because Owlcat only knows / wants to make games like Pathfinder.

So you seem to think that they are actually going to be incorporated into the main campaign, as opposed to being entirely separate adventures.

Both of the announced DLCs are entirely integrated into the main campaign.

I am with the OP on this, biggest disappointment of both Pathfinders for me were the expansions.
