Speculation on Future DLC and Companions
Why yes, it is premature. However I do have faith in Owlcat that this game will sell well enough to get at least one DLC expansion.

Given the wide and wild Koronus Expanse, our Rogue Traders can get up to anything. However I speculate that future DLC will be centered on at least one Imperial faction. Why? Most other factions either do not need or really want the help of a Rogue Trader (aside from an expendable patsy that is). It also allows for new Origins and repercussions of Origins if we interact with the Imperium at large.

The Rogue Trader Tabletop did allow for quite a few xenos companions although personally I would like to explore the diversity of the Imperium before we start collecting a menagerie of Xenos. This would fit more into the three Convictions and prevents having to give our Rogue Trader a narrative lobotomy just to fit the Xeno Companions into the story. I mean even the Aeldari are kind of iffy as allies; most would gladly trade a thousand human souls for a single Aeldari life and are unapologetic about it. Trusting the Drukhari is basically assisted suicide. One single member of either race? Doable. Trusting a faction of them? No. No way.

The Adeptus Mechanicus is already represented by a Companion, our ever trusty Tech-Priest. A DLC that centers on them can introduce a Skiitarri Companion as well as a race to find the cache of archeotech before the Dark Mechanicus can. Perhaps we could have a boss fight against some Castellans as the climatic battle.

The Astra Militarium could pull us into a war chronicle but there is the Dawn of War games for that. However having a regiment settling on a nearby world could bring in the Imperial Guard in a more peacetime capacity, especially if the regiment in question has ties to our Dynasty. Perhaps a Catachan Jungle Fighter as a Heavy Weapon Specialist or Kasirkin as all-round badasses.

The Ecclesiarchy seems to have the least links to Rogue Traders traditionally but with Sister Argenta on our ship, it does give us a route by which the greater Ecclesiarchy could become involved with us. Especially if a heretic from their ranks has managed to escape all the way into the Koronus Expanse. Owlcat, I doubt that you all are listening but I implore you, do not add a Sister Repentia to our squad. You *know* how the fandom will react if we have an amazonian woman armed with an eviscerator whose modesty is only preserved by strategically positioned purity seals on the squad. Needless to say it would be very NSFW. Perhaps a Crusader as a new tank so that our faithful Seneschal can get a break from taking beatings to the face.

The Inquisition, as always, looms large in the Imperium. We already have an Inquisitor-in-training within our ranks but like many Adeptus in the Imperium, the Inquisition is hardly a monolith. The resources of the Inquisition can justify all manner of semi or outright heretical things; daemonhosts, death cult assassins, abhumans and even friendly xenos. Its one of the more lore friendly means to get that Tau waifu some people seem to be so thirsty for given that the Tau Empire are halfway across the galaxy. For me, the Companion I would like to see is a Jokaero. As another tech-based character, he would be a good contrast to our tech-priest and frankly I really cannot remember when a Jokaero played a significant role in a Warhammer 40K game. The kind of quests associated with them can be quite varied depending on the Ordo involved. For a spin, it could be one of the Ordo Minoris who also get very little screentime.

The Offico Assassinorum tends to be overpowered as heck, about as strong as elites in any other organization. They also generally do not heed the commands of Rogue Traders. However there could be circumstances where we work with one. Such as transporting an Eversor to their destination and defending their stasis pod before the assassin is released to RIP AND TEAR.

Alternatively, if budget does not allow for the addition of Companions, they can be quest rewards or from Sector Management. These could allow you to unlock them as options for recruitable mercenaries.

TL;DR

List of possible Companions from Imperial Factions

Warriors
Crusader
Sister Repentia
Ogryn Bodyguard

Marksman
Catachan Heavy Gunner
Skitarii Ranger
Ratling Sniper

Operative
Kasrkin
Death Cult Assassin
Jokaero

Psyker
Daemonhost

Officer
Imperial Guard Captain

One combat dungeon-focus DLC.
1 story DLC with new character and classes.

Probably what I hope for.

Hopefully it will be squat related.

Like wrath what companions we know today are almost half of the total companions in the game. Maybe not open for all paths but at least expect 1-2 surprise companions for all and an almost full roster for chaos path and 1-2 more exclusive either for high benevolentia or imperialis run. There is a rumor that Cubis Delphi may be a companion when you have a chaos run and I expect him that he is not the only one gated by mutual antagonistic choices for the other dispositions.

I think you're gonna be super disappointed, mate.

Why say that? Played Chaos run or the game after Commoragh?

While I do think you are on to something, there might be Companions that join specifically for a Hereticus run, I am not so sure about there being only about 50% of the Companions introduced so far. Still it certainly would be nice to have that many options for party members on board who also have a fully fleshed out story and character interactions.

In wrath we didn't know about Trevor, Queen (both types of companion). We didn't know about lich companions, We didn't know I think about Aivu and I'm missing on my mythic paths exclusive companions? For the traillers , beta version of the game.
And not to mention Ulbreg the DLC companion.
So nearly half of wrath companions we didn't know from beta/trailers.

You are stretching something fierce. Aivu? Really man? Okay, I take it back. You are going to be super excited when you finally get that useless awesome servo-skull 'companion'. Can't wait for you to excitedly come running and telling us about all the other fantastic companions you've discovered too.

I've decided I'm not gonna kick you down just because you are easily pleased and have rock-bottom expectations.

Aivu is lot different than a cosmetic. Not even a battle pet like a dog or wolf
