Quick question regarding ships
Is there anywhere online I can see the available ships for the player? :)

Maybe some really old ships does not look like that, but idk. Its a "feature" that makes astartes ships hard to mistake with anything.

P.S On a side note as an BFG player i would love to have a Firestorm instead of a Sword or Falchion.
There are astartes cruisers with and without hammerheads, they'd still class as strike cruisers.

Considering the Ad Mech field a few hammerhead designs as well

It might not be aesthetics but rather sensoria and doctrine based.

(note how the astartes cruisers have more bulbous than hammerhead prows, similarly to how the ad mech does overall).

Punisher's basically a class that is seldom seen in main fleet actions but anytime you hear about a "astartes striker cruiser" it could be one of that class (though from what I can see of the lore it's a lighter version of it) or one of the few ships of the line Arbites forces can field.

It's not an Astartes Cruiser(well, not anymore anyhow), but Arbites Cruiser. It also don't have your typical hammerhead aesthetic like Astarters ships usually have(incl escorts).

It likely never was an Astartes ship, that class is used by them and the Arbites and as I mentioned in my previous post:It's not just them that have semi-hammerheads on cruisers, Mechanicus do as well. Battlebarges have full hammerheads tho.

I forgot about the AdMech. All I remember is the NOVA CANNON! Very fun (sub) faction, even if I fully believe they work the best as a fire support to IN brawlers like Avenger etc. SM ships are 1000% more fun in Armada 1. Unless you enjoy spamming board with StrikeC's.

According to the newest videos, you get at least two or three starter ships to choose from (all frigates/escorts):

- Sword-class
- Falchion-class (listed as preorder reward for 3 highest pre-order tiers)
- Firestorm-class

They are playing fast and loose with those categories. Sword and Falchion are kinda ok(never heard of a Sword with Torpedoes, but maybe it exists in the actual TT game ; certainly not in Armada), but Firestorm? Ok, THAT is "Firestorm"? ...

I think, from what others said, you upgrade from them (maybe an ingame event like Pathfinder 2 where you went from on group to LEADING A CRUSADE :D I suspect things but might be spoilery).

So, we "MIGHT" get at least a Light Cruiser? Regardless, that is not a Firestorm. It's Owlcatstorm. If people can't launch Armada(either), here is the wiki page: https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Firestorm-class_Frigate?so=search .

Well rogue traders tend to cap out around cruiser class ships and just enhance them with [REDACTED] technology to make em slap far harder. From the last guy apparently we're getting a lighter Strike Cruiser hull which is promising overall. It ain't a grand cruiser or a battlecruiser, but eh...

Xenos tech can make a diff.

I would be satisfied with a customizable Dauntless. Though wouldn't say no to Lunar chassis(whichever class that might be) either. But Dauntless would do.

For me an Arkcruiser would do.

Is there a non cosmetic difference from the ship you select? In terms of weapons/ performance/ starting skills?

Looking at the models ingame there would be because one has a chin mounted lance from what I can see (can't imagine that's a nova on a frigate), they all have different sizes and weapon arrangements. I haven't gotten far enough into the game to tell you how well it materializes.
