Party Creation or just one character?
Can we create our whole party or just one character? Neither is a deal breaker, just curious.

This topic is very old even from before Beta. Plenty of Let's plays and the Beta that shows the state of Party system now. :)

Short answer: Yes things are a lot more complex than the simple basic state of alpha a year ago, let alone from the Beta 6 months ago.

We make a fully customizable Main Character (or pick from presets) much like any CRPG and pick Homeworld, Origin (both with passive boosts and unlocked abilities/talents that can be almost classes unto themselves especially Psykers), Archetype (your first of three actual classes), Triumph and Darkest Hour (sort of your character history stuff, like Mass Effect that will likely be used in game dialogue). Lastly we get to pick our ship.

Then after finishing the tutorial we can make Mercs, in addition to recruiting story/plot companions.

Then there's also coop now up to all party members (6 players) who can control 1 each, multiple or all toons including MC if everyone else went afk during a battle. Or for a "hold my Beer" moment. The Host player just has to give them the permissions during combat. :D

Outside of combat it's a bit different and restrictive.

from what i've seen its pretty basic right now, however i could be completely wrong.....

personally i want to know if i can make my Rogue Trader a Psyker....or am i going to have to rely on Modding and/or am i going to have to solely rely on the premade Psykers?

It is alpha and the character your have is just a placeholder, its there to let us play and test out stuff.
We will be able to create our own character (most likely when it reach beta) and I am almost certain, that we will see a way to "recruit" custom companions, instead of the fleshed out ones.

we start partly into the game, and are character is kinda set up for us at level 15 so yeah i don't think we have any customisation in the alpha at all. I mean its fine, its set up for testing mostly.
I hope we can create our own character in the full game, pick how our class starts out and what weapons we start with ext. how they look ext. im sure that will all come much later.

This is a video game so admittedly it will be like being a Mage in Dragon Age (or a Psyker in Inquisitor) but unless there are a bunch of unique story opportunities (which admittedly there should be, with counterpoints for non Psychic characters) as someone whose favorite part of Warhammer is the Lore, I very much don't want to be a Psyker lol. Chaos is existentially terrifying and never safe. If I didn't want to romance the Eldar I would say "let me be a blank."

...Though that could be a really interesting romance, the Eldar and her people's boogeyman who is literally uncomfortable to be around, painful to touch...
Would prevent me from trying to take us back to the original Rogue Trader and imply there are half Eldar running around unfortunately...

I did (short answer :p ), but I like to give more information so you have a full understanding in case you have more questions. No real extra effort on my part.

You seemed to have some pretty dated info on the game, so I thought I would catch you up instead of having to watch three different videos. :p

Ah, well I'm not getting the game for at least a year anyway, as that's the absolute minimum time after release it takes for Owlcat to fix their games enough to play. Just wanted to know if it was even worth reminding myself in a year or not.

But thanks for the answer.

It's not just fixing stuff. It will take a year for all the DLCs to come out too. :p

I myself am just not as wise and preordered for Beta and will play the buggyness, then replay parts of the game again cause OCD completionist/bug fixes, then replay from the beginning because I took so long over months and months that a new character DLC came out, requiring restart. lol

That's what I'd do if it were anyone other than Owlcat, honestly. I just don't trust them to fix what I'd want them to fast enough (if at all).
