Scarface Mansion - Ernesto Sosa stealth kill bug?
Playing Scarface Mansion on One Down last night and stealthing it.

I get all the way to the part where I open the door to Sosa's room.
I open the door and see Mr Sosa in there, he does NOT spot me and I pull out my Grom sniper rifle and nail him right in the head. Instead of dropping dead he turns and opens fire on me.
I've watch videos of other people killing him in stealth and they use any gun (and in one case a thrown shuriken) and Sosa dies in 1 hit just like any guard dies when you're not detected.

A few things I'm wondering about:

1. I entered the final section (the red carpeted section) of mansion through the 'right' side door, coming in from the outside. This is the the door that has a narrow hallway and a narrow staircase leading up. As I got to the top floor right outside the 2nd to last door I hear Sosa say some crap like "You guys come to kill me?" (Typical bad guy nonsense). The weird part is that up until this point I'm still in stealth and Sosa is still in his room and I haven't even seen the guy. It sounds as if Sosa is aggro'ing yet isn't actually alerted.

2. I was standing right on the top of the balcony and not in his room, although the missions objective said "Kill Sosa" so I was on the right stage of the heist. Do I actually have to enter the room to make the kill?

3. I did this whole thing twice, getting all the way to Sosa stealthily and headshot him, but he doesn't friggin die. What is going on here?

I do know that Sosa only spawns when you open the door to his room to prevent people from killing early by just being better at parkour then the devs intended. However, that was just an unneeded safeguard as it is impossible to get up there early as far as I remember. I think Sosa also has two different spawns just like the rat does in hoxton revenge. One with heavy armor and one without. Regardless of any of that, any entity that is considered ‘cool’ can be killed in one strike. So, the most logical explanation based on what you said is the game is triggering an irritated loud geared Sosa to spawn rather than the correct oblivious suit wearing one. I have faint memories of such a thing happening with regular guards before where they are just triggered and think an enemy is facing them but do not know their location. The problem with this is that Sosa is a high health enemy that cannot be killed in one shot easily. If this keeps on happening to you, I suggest using a bloodthirst crit katana to eliminate him quickly as well as making an actual report in the bug report forums.

Do know it could also just be one of your mods though.

There's a known issue where Sosa has an abnormally high amount of HP for stealth unlike Hector's stealth variant. Part of the problem here is because his health is so incredibly high, there is no weapon bar the Thanatos, RPG/Commando, the bows or Javelin that will 1 shot him on that difficulty (with headshots for the weapons that can) due to the 2x headshot multiplier not being enough for most other weapons.

Guys, i also have a problem on that map.Once i tried to kill a guard with a card(AoS) and he detected me.(YES, ACTUALLY THE CARD HAD HIT THE GUARD-i saw the hitmarker)Then the same bug happened to me with Ernesto.
But, i had kunai.Guys, always bring kunai and crits if you have this problem too, because i killed him in like 3 seconds.(spamming kunai, and also that beautiful poison effect on it)
the kunai is really useful against him

ridiculous that this is not fixed yet

I can identify the root cause of this problem.

Enemies that are not alerted in stealth are normally instantly killed by any form of damage. However, due to a coding oversight, critical hits bypass the instant kill check, meaning than enemies hit with a crit will not instantly die. This is most noticeable with criminal guards or bosses on high difficulties, as these enemies also have very high health. Until it's fixed, the workaround is to simply not use crit skills.

This. I assume you were using critical hits with your Grom. Critical Hits negate stealth instant kills, HVT Aced bonuses, and damage clamps on enemies. So just don't use crits when stealthing.
I think Payday 2 has stupid rules, like if he detects you, he will immediately have almost infinite life. Even though he just didnt put on any kind of armour. But Payday 2 is like that, it sacrifices logic to be more fun, I was thinking that today in Cooking, everytime the recipe is different, that isn't logical at all. If it had to be caustic soda as first ingredient, and you put other ingredient then all blows up, that makes no sense because probably the next time caustic soda WILL be the first ingredient.. But, it would be boring if it was a fixed recipe. So I guess that realistic people are not rewarded with this game, it is more "gamelike", as I say it is fun but if you think of Hoxton revenge, Hector will have low health if he doesnt have an armour, and High health if wearing armour, so reality is respected there. Why not in Ernesto Sosa??

From the beginning it is not meant to be a realistic game, but sometimes it does good job and sometimes you find things that suck, like this. My first idea is that if your grom wasn't silenced, the moment you shoot he automatically will change to high health before the bullet gets to his head..
I can't complain really because I always did stealth and killed him easily in all difficulties. Also I cant imagine this mission without my silenced judge.
Also, what he says "You guys come to kill me?", It doesnt make sense because that's what he would say if you go loud, but if you are in stealth he should say other things, like "Did you come to bring me my juice?", I dont know, anything. Really, it sometimes feel like negligence because they are just too lazy about making changes to the code.. Once I pointed out that a light blue skin I got for my Silent OVE saw was in fact white when the saw has silent engine, Cmon! I bought it because it is light blue, I wanted it to stay that colour!! They just said that it was a community made item, Cmon! you are not Counter strike 1,6 to say "some unknown kid made that. sorry". If there is something wrong you go and solve it, dont blame community nerd kids.

Also, today I was thinking and an idea came to me, Ernesto Sosa is behind a wall in a room, so why not just shoot him from the start, so I made a silenced thanatos, and nothing, I started reading and.. well, Ernesto Sosa spawns after the telephone part, or when you open the door.. Anyway, I thought it might be a good reward for an idea growing slowly and slowly, until you realise about it. But no, no reward, after all if it was possible then it would be too easy to finish the mission all the time in a matter of seconds anyway..
Payday 2 is like that, take it or leave it.
