First, what VR system are you using? The game works on Touch controllers and Vive Wands, the Index Knuckles and (as I heard) the Reverb's... whatevers need tinkering. People use community control overrides from SteamVR for those controllers, that remap the controls externally.
So, first step is to remove the mod, and try the game without it. Try the options for teleport and direct movement too. If it works, then reinstall the mod cleanly.
The game actually uses entirely different control schemes for different in-game stances. Main menu, civilian mode, casing mode and loud mode has separate controls. For example, you can jump in civilian and loud mode, but not in the main menu and casing mode. Or that there's no smooth turning in the menu.
Also the controls switch hands if you switch between left and right handed mode, so check that too. Maybe you accidentally switched hands, and can't move because you try to move with the wrong hand's thumbstick. Your mask should be in your weapon hand.
Try mucking around in the options. There are not many VR players here in the forums, and either they give up when they encounter problems, or they solve them, but never tell us the solution. So please, if you manage to solve this, tell us the solution!
MessageSound is a little mod that plays a beep when you get a chat message. There's absolutely no clue about it in the base game, so you have to check the wrist phone all the time if you want to communicate with other players.
There are three contour mods that help a lot. Desktop players have HUDs, but we can't have those, but contours can help:
Bag Contour sorts bags by weight. Green is light, red is heavy. Need to be customized on desktop, as the coke is not green enough, too close in color to money. But the mod crashes the game if you go into its mod options in VR.
BulletstormAmmoBagContours makes Bulletstorm Basic ammo bags blue, Aced purple.
UppersFAKContours makes Uppers Aced FAKS blue.
Pager Contour recolors the contour of pagers that are being answered by another player.
No Red Lasers recolors red player lasers.
The Fixes fix various gameplay bugs.
WelcomeMessage lets you tell other players that YES, you are actually playing in VR (but it's kinda obnoxious to use for that).
There was another contour mod that let you change spotted people's colors to different things, I used it to color civilians yellow instead of red. It stopped working, and started to crash my game in multiplayer recently.
These are the mods I use, and they work without problems in VR.
Ok so when I turn off locomotion in the mod settings I can move around in casing mode by teleporting but as soon as I revert back to locomotion I cannot move again. Has to be the mod causing it then.
The reason I'm using the mod is because I don't like using buttons for turning left and right it just doesn't feel right and I cannot understand why the devs decided to implement turning this way. I want to use my thumb sticks for movement and the mod does this for me except for in casing mode.
Also my mask is always in my right hand as are my main weapons.
You talk of community control overrides from SteamVR, I'm going to sound thick here but where do I go to get them? The only thing I see is steam workshop but they seem to be mainly weapons.
Again thanks guy's for your help.
The SteamVR control overrides are in SteamVR, not in the game, also not in desktop Steam. I can't remember from the top of my head where exactly. But with Touch controllers you shouldn't need them.
I guess it's something with control settings with the VR mod. Are you sure you set _both_ VR settings in the game to smooth turning and direct movement?
There is the default VR options on the big screen on your left. Those are the game's VR controls. You can set the basic things there, and customize the inventory belt.
Also don't forget to calibrate the inverse kinematics arm movements.
But there are also the VR Improvements Mod's options. Those can be found on the big screen in front of you, in Options->Mod Options->VR Improvements Mod/vrplus
There are a number of submenus, and you should check and set _all_ of them.
For example, there's the option for jumping, that _replaces_ teleport, and is also the sprint button (Don't ask why, it just is. Really bad, but that's what we got) So the best setting is the time sensitive setting, when short click is jump, long push is sprint. And you have to set it in the options.
Just check the options carefully, read everything in the menus!
I don't think I did this so I'll give this a try later tonight.
Thanks Zero for your help as I'm now having a more enjoyable experience heisting in vr.
