confused and dont understand lore

i do not wanna see an 3 hour long video, soo i have some ploblems:
- i saw an all endings video, the first ending that dallas does not give up on heists i do understand, but at the same time i dont....
- what about the bain is infected thing? some people say its the no mercy virus, some say its l4d, i dont understand
- people said that bain was like born again or something as the president? like what?

2. MurkyWater captures Bain and injects the virus into his body, it's the same virus from No Mercy Heist, and Mercy Hospital is based on L4D (Also with lots of references)
3. In the secret ending, Bain becomes the president for some reason

ok soo if i understand it right,
1- bain dies on the first ending, and everyone decides to give up on the life of crime unless dallas, that could explain probably a lot of things for payday 3
2 - on the murkywater captured bain and injects the L4D virus on him.
3 - my theory is that the virus for some reason failed or was meant to work like that, soo that is the reason why bain is the president

actually, both your first and second theory was right, but my explanation will contain major spoilers so here i go

you third one is wrong on the part where the virus failed, actually, in the hell's island, heist you see that bain basically gained some kind of supoerforce somehow and his body is deteriorating from the virus, as at the very end of the secret white house heist you can see that the virus was actually killing his body and he used the pyramid to turn into the president so he will leave and this part of the lore will influence on payday 3

but no, the virus was killing him, he just swapped minds with the presindent or something but he didn't died on that ending

To answer your second point: In the original PAYDAY: The Heist: No Mercy was a Left 4 Dead crossover, based on the campaign of the same name in that game, and was a nightmare like PAYDAY 2's Halloween heists. When No Mercy was added to PAYDAY 2, it was retconed to be a flashback to something that happened in lore, and many of the references to L4D were scrubbed. It is the virus that was obtained in PD2's No Mercy that Bain was infected with.

i may be making this up but i do remember other payday and l4d references in each other
