Bodhi completed the "Ozaki 8" ordeals
Hi, guys. As you can see, I've come up with the idea that Bodhi did manage to complete the "Ozaki 8" ordeals. My theory is quite specific and I hope you'll find it interesting. I just whant to share my thought with you and find out whether you agree with me or not. I'll be glad to hear any ophinion. And I'm sorry for mistakes if there are any - my English is not perfect. So, I shall start.

First of all, let's look at the most obvious thing - the "Ozaki 8" ordeals list in Bodhi's room. We can clearly see that "The master of six lives" and "The act of ultimate trust" are still unfinished but according to the movie, Bodhi did complete these ordeals and then he died in the storm while doing "The life of water" ordeal not far from Australia. But this ordeal is crossed out in Bodhi's list, so it doesn't add up with the movie.
What is more, the description to one of the Bodhi's masks that you can get as an achievement says that he survived in the storm at Tuvalu Island, located close to Australia. So, it was there where Bodhi not only survived but also successfully completed the ordeal. How could it happen?

So, let's pay attention to "Bodhi briefing" video (you can find it in FBI files, 2015 - 12-04). Commissioner says that after the incident in Austria (when Bodhi blew up a mine, according to the movie) Bodhi "has become nothing but a ghost and now he has appeared in Washington". If Bodhi appears in Washington it means he's alive. But as I mentioned above, in the movie Bodhi, after having blown up a mine, goes to Venezuela, completes "The master of six lives" and "The act of ultimate trust" ordeals and then dies in the storm. Now it doesn't add up with the game and it seems to be the dead end but there is one detail that cordinaly changes the whole situation.

Let's look through another FBI file (unique weapon, 2015 - 12-11) in which Big Kahuna, the skin for the Renfield shotgun is described. It tells us about a heister who completed the "Ozaki 8" ordeals and decorated his Renfield shotgun with traditional Samoan ornaments that literally mean "I did the Ozaki 8" to keep the memory of this life event forever. And we can clearly see absolutely the same ornament which Bodhi has on his right arm as a tattoo. You can always have a look at this skin and compare it with the one on Bodhi's arm. We know that man's arm and gun's barrel have different shapes, so you may find little differences in the way it was made as Bodhi's tattoo but the ornaments themselves are like each other. We all know Bodhi's character, so he would neither make this tattoo just for fun nor to memorise that heister, because Bodhi is strong enough to do the ordeals himself and its meaning is sacred for him. I don't think it's just a coincidence. Bodhi made this tattoo because he had reason for it, so it means one thing - he did complete the "Ozaki 8" ordeals. Finally, I'm introducing you to the whole theory which BTW has little differences with the movie.

At first everything happens according to the movie. Then after the incident in Austria, Bodhi disappears and instead of doing "The master of six lives" and "The act of ultimate trust" ordeals (as he did in the movie) goes to Tuvalu Island, does "The life of water" ordeal and crosses it out from his list. Then he goes to Venezuela, does remaining two ordeals one by one and makes the tattoo of his triumphal victory. He decides not to cross out the last two ordeals but to leave them as they are so that he would be able to reexperience each ordeal again in his memory. The tattoo is still Bodhi's sacred mark of his great success and of course it means much more than just a memory for him. Well, finally he recieves the invitation from Bain and joins the PAYDAY gang.

So, I tried to illuminate most controvercial anf important questions: why "The life of water" ordeal is crossed out in Bodhi's list and "The master of six lives" and "The act of ultimate trust" are not, why Bodhi is still alive, and finally, how Game adds up with the movie although there are little differences.

To conclude, guys, thank all of you for both reading and paying attention to my theory.

The heist Birth of Sky is loosely inspired by a scene in the movie. IIRC they did it as intro for the challenge and the sky diving part was the challenge itself.

Was the scene in the original movie?

It's long time since I saw the original movie. I never saw the new movie but many scenes from it on youtube and I'm not sure if the scene was in the original movie or if my brain is mixing scenes.
