Yeah it's weird how they made it canon and it's even weirder that they retconned Duke to partake in the heist now. The intro dialogue has Duke saying something like "Why do I have a feeling I shouldn't be here?" to which Bain responds "You're right where you need to be Duke" felt freaky but I kind of am glad Duke plays a big role in all of this. Glad they still kept all of the L4D references as well with an all new Bill model. Glad they kept his cameo in!
I also really like how it's a flashback now instead of the "we're doing the same exact heist all over again" like in Heat Street and Green Bridge.

Yeah just restart the heist and you'll eventually hear Duke speaking in the intro before the heist starts. I got it on my first playthrough of it. It felt so surreal lol

That probably is not canon then. Just like hearing Sydney screaming into your ears in Big Bank.

WHY IS IT COMPLICATED TO GET THE WRITING?

"haha we are genius writors we writo complicated lolmao"

No

That's not how it works.

I'm talking about the "cutscene" as most people call it. Where the characters exchange dialogue before a heist starts. I'm fairly certain it's canon. To top it all of they put a significant amount of importance on flashback on the overview of the heist. So it's safe to say Duke has been around longer than we initially thought.

That, or it's just a silly thing.

OVK has Bain, Locke, Chains, Duke and Hoxton's actors available.

What did OVK do? They did a funny. They did a silly thing that is lore breaking for fun.

Also Duke's appearance is only one of them. There are some where Wolf speaks (PD:TH retakes), and the other with Chains.

If you're a fairy and you're certain it's canon that's cool for you, but I doubt it.

It's lore breaking that they did a retcon? How does this break continuity exactly? Bain had to have gotten his infamous book somehow and this essentially explains it. Ovk specifically hired someone for the story and his main focus for continuing the lore is with Duke. How can you possibly exaggerate by saying this breaks the timeline?
As for reusing Wolf's lines, yeah it's a flashback it's stated clearly in the heist overview, they made the heist canon now, I don't see your point. They even reused Wolf's lines for Counterfeit as well.

My point is the story is fucked up. That's about it.

Well that was the case when introducing Jimmy into the story. Making a Russian Mercenary with telekinetic powers canon in Payday is more in lines of a fairy tale instead of a simple retcon.

Okay so you have a problem with a sci-fi vilain but no problem with broken time line.

Cool beans bye.

I never said I had a problem with it, you're taking things out of context. I even asked you how exactly does this break the timeline, but judging from your response it seems you're only interested in stating your point lol

The no mercy from pd th is not canon, there was never any mention of the book or anything in that heist. The no mercy we got now is canon I guess, at least that is how I understand this...
The way i understand it, this No Mercy is a flashback, of a timeline in which No mercy is canon and was done for that book. So essentially, No Mercy is real, about a book and the one we see is just a flashback that randomly has Duke in it, and while the pre-heist talk is always just loose canon since theres atleast 20 heisters to choose from, its obviously a joke as Duke remarks on how he isnt supposed to be there.

> No Mercy is canon
> Book is canon
> PD2 heist is a flashback
> Duke isnt canon

Nobody said that Duke isnt part of the story, the context is that he wasnt part of No Mercy.
