question about chameleon ace

so I do loud almost exclusively because I suck eggs at stealth. that said fact aside, I like to have chameleon aced, though mainly for the item value boost, but I'm wondering what items the skill affects besides virtually anything that doesn't have an interaction wheel, given there are any at all

I think that's all the skill affects. Honestly the ability to pick up items in casing mode is more useful than the extra value, since money does not matter in this game.

well that was 4 skill points wasted. however, money has importance to me atm as I'm still infamy 0, but only because I made the mistake of spending my offshore funds on new skill slots

Well just play Cook Off for an hour or so and you'll be back to being a multi billionaire.

Chameleon ace only affects loose items you pick up. So for example items inside deposit boxes on the harvest and trustee bank. (not including bags)
Picking up items in stealth also includes keycards, so it can in fact be very useful if you don't want to mask up just so you can collect one.

I'm only good for overkill at most atm, I can make millions, but not billions

Well i mean, i didn't say you were but interpret it however you wish. Just pointing out that it's not 4 points wasted because it is a very good skill for stealth.

it sure is, but you're teaching fish to swim. I'm one of if not the worst stealth player in payday 2 so the only use I currently have for it is the extra cash

As stated above, just play cook off for a bit then. Even on overkill it will give you plenty of cash in no time. Though it has to be said, if you really want cash quick, your best bet is probably to learn how to ecm rush stealth heists on the hardest difficulty.

OVE-9000 saw, grenade launcher, ammo bags, chameleon ace. Go play mallcrasher on overkill, blow up everything to call the helicopter, then loop back around and saw open the ATMs while you wait (chameleon aced actually counts ATMs for some reason). Very, very easy way to grind money early on without making the game absurdly boring in the meantime. The offshore cost to buy the contract is offset easily.

Once you're comfortable enough doing pretty much any stealth heist on one down, including jewelry store, is leagues faster.
