000 Buckshot yes / no + general questions about shotguns
Hello,

New player here, and I've got a question about shotguns.

I'm using the Raven and Loco with Shark Teeth

Basic Overkill (75% dmg + on kill)
Aced Shotgun Impact (15% total dmg)
Basic Underdog (15% dmg when surrounded)
Anarchist Perk Deck (5% dmg from Fast&Furious)

Should I use 000 buckshot or not? I've heard that 000 buckshot reduces pellet count and ammo pick up. I'd like to play on DW, so the damage break points for that difficulty are what I'd like to go by.


I've read up a lot on the subject but am wary because of the age of the posts I've read so far.
So my question is, which is the best/most efficient combination to run for these shotguns?

Raven/Loco with 000Buckshot (+15 Flat dmg, less ammo pickup?, less pellet count?)
Raven/Loco w/o 000Buckshot

Raven/Loco with 000Buckshot + Aced Silent Killer/Silencer (30% dmg buff) + Aced Inspire
Raven/Loco w/o 000Buckshot + Aced Silent Killer/Silencer (30% dmg buff) + Aced Inspire

Raven/Loco with 000Buckshot + Aced Berserker (100% dmg buff w/ Frenzy) +Aced Inspire
Raven/Loco w/o 000Buckshot + Aced Berserker (100% dmg buff w/ Frenzy) +Aced Inspire

Raven/Loco with 000Buckshot + Aced Berserker + Aced Silent Killer/Silencer (No Inspire)
Raven/Loco w/o 000Buckshot + Aced Berserker + Aced Silent Killer/Silencer (No Inspire)

the way i run shotguns is with silent killer, often combined with crits
im pretty sure 000 no longer affects ammo pickup, as it is now affected by walk in closest. id never heard about the pellet count but if you dont need 15dmg maybe its not worth it then

inspire is a whole other skill, but you get doctors on the way, its amazing and super cheap, so why not?

yo, main double shotgun player here.
to what kiro said i wouldnt run silent killer the base dmg of the shotguns isnt good enough.
overall i wouldnt run your shotguns because there is better.

for pellet count buckshot takes out bullets (not too sure here) but more important it takes out spread. its not that bad but it does happen (for my setup it isnt needed so i never played it too much)

if you want to run double shotgun the strongest way is to play 1 killing shotgun that is rly ammo effiecent and 1 utitilty weapon (most of the time thats a HE judge for stunning) ofc some maps are just not made to be played with double shotgun so you gotta swap the judge out there for annoying snipers.

if you dont want the strongest weapons (imo) im gonna think about your weapons let me know^^

I'll say this: It depends if you hit collats (2 kills, 1 shot) or you like to shoot them like ducks.
Collats: HE. If not, stock
Non-collats: Buck or Flechette.

Does anyone know how many pellets the default has over the 000 buckshot?

In the safehouse I'm counting bullet holes but there isnt a difference. I think its a bug similar to how if you aim down sights with most of the sight mods all your bullets "land" on the same spot.

depends on the shotgun
i think it generally wavers from about 5-7 with default rounds but im not sure

Buckshot doesn't reduce amount of pellets. All shotguns fire 12 pellets with or without buckshot ammo.
All shotguns and the flamethrower (which uses the shotgun mechanic) fire the same amount of pellets.
