Flechettes are only for stealth to keep my shot compacted and accurate so i can open doors from farther away more easily, and shoot guards in the back without hitting glass behind them, the one time i want a accurate shotgun!.
and then there are slugs, i only use them for overkill aced set ups with something high damage like breaker 12g, or a judge since i want the overkill aced damage boost rn not a few seconds later after the enemy burns to death. oh and slugs make shields dead like a 5/7 ap pistol, you have to wait for less than a second sometimes for them to burn to death even with a db judge, thats enough time for them to shoot you sometimes.
000 Buckshot: Any & All
HE Rounds: Judge
Dragon's Breath: Grimm/Brothers Grimm
Any other good matches? In my own testing I've found that slugs are best used on already high-damage shotguns, as they benefit the most from headshots. That just leaves them and Flechettes for a perfect match.
You can sorta make the mosconi like a pump action sniper rifle with them too, although it's kind of a gimmicky way of playing.
If I'm playing with shotguns I usually set one up with fletchette, because, unless you're investing into high accuracy and range, they're the only shotgun ammo type that can reliably hit distant snipers. Usually use em with the higher damage ones like the breaker, or double barrels, etc. Since the damage penalty isn't as bad.
HE also works nicely with the judge, since you can fire off those five shots pretty quick, clearing tightly packed shields and such.
Had some fun using HE with the twin grimms since they basically stack up knockdown on the enemies you hit, making them stumble and fall like five times. Though, you have to make a build around it for it to work
it tanks your dps(it cant headshot, but does 100 dps for 5 s from fire regardless of the weapon)
high ROF are best for spreading a lot of fire quickly
