Hi! I'm Kail, and you might've seen me around the PAYDAY 2 community here and there.

I've been working with Dougley (the maker of Alpha HUD Restoration and Lightning & Rain Restoration, also on core LASTBULLET) to produce PROJECT: Canary, a completely audio-based mod that will hope to attend to the emptiness around the characters and their thoughts ingame.

Below are some small preview videos to showcase some of the things we've added to stealth, the assault, as well as interaction to the Point of No Return timers.

PROJECT: Canary is entirely based around Lua scripts, so with luck the game won't break with every update.

///TUTORIAL / INSTALLATION ///

The BLT hook is not compatible with HoxHud, and in turn, HoxHud is not compatible with PROJECT: Canary. I may create a version compatible with HoxHud in the future, but I am focused on bringing a mod with full functionality first.

To install PROJECT: Canary, you must first install the BLT hook. Head over to http://paydaymods.com/download/ and download the BLT Lua hook, then extract the contents into your root PAYDAY 2 folder.

Then, visit the LASTBULLET.net download page by clicking here[forums.lastbullet.net], and download the mod. After, navigate to PAYDAY 2/mods/.

Mods that are built off the BLT hook are installed slightly differently than the old Lua hook. Inside the .zip will be a folder called CANARY. Simply drop this folder into PAYDAY 2/mods/. And there you have it - PROJECT: Canary is now installed. Launch your PAYDAY 2.

It will prompt you with a mail notification on first start up. This is how you know you installed it correctly.

Every time an assault actually starts, Bain says the lines that go "they're sending in special units!" instead of his usual (and more kickass) "Brace yourselves" lines, i guess its because in this game they spawn in all the specials at the start of the assault, but it is bugging me quite a bit. Maybe have an option to disable the special unit warning lines?

I added that as a random chance line. I'll add in an option to toggle it, thank you.

The options seem to be a bit incorrect. I've enabled "Spotting cameras improvement toggle", but nothing happened. Is this one of those options you have to disable? I'm aware you're working on that, though.

And now I'm rather curious: if I check "Assault Incoming Global Toggle", will that enable the feature of my character warning about assaults, or disable it?

The problem with Toggle switches are that sometimes they don't say if it's "on" or "off". "Press this button to toggle XYZ" and if you check it, you don't know if it's on or off.

Yes, I am aware. I've pointed out in most new descriptions now that (TICKED = ON) and changed the descriptions to state "Tick this if you want x"

I think I just heard my favorite "new" Bain line. "The defamation has hit the tessellation." (I think it was something like that. I'm not sure what rhyming word would have worked in place of fan).

Hey guys! I've listened to your requests and brought in a bunch of more customization options, as well as some new features! :)

You'll be prompted to update PROJECT: Canary when you next open the game.

Changelog:

- Reoptimized and rewrote all scripts.
- Fixed FPS drops occuring in some clients.

- Added and fixed up mod options
- Rewrote localization for mod options and made them more clear on their functionality
- The following new mod options have been added:

• Bain 'Start Assault' Improvement
  
• Inspire Improvement
  
• Player Calling Improvement
  
• Spotting Guards Improvement
  
• Cable-Tie Civilians 1
  
• Cable-Tie Civilians 2
  
• Detected Cursing
  
• Point of No Return Dialogue
  
• Reset Options

- Added in a new line for shouting at a civilian to get down, will trigger 10% when shouting at civilians to stay down. Will trigger 100% if you are currently in an assault wave, and you've shouted at a civilian to 'stop' if they're running away.

- Added in Player Calling Improvement, which will make your character respond to calling as if they were an AI
- Characters will respond differently if the heister calling them is in distress (Downed, Incapacitated, Arrested)

Fixes:

- Extended the delay for Bain's heist victory line so there's less likelihood of him conflicting with another contractor's voice.

- Fixed Jacket sometimes saying nothing when boosting someone with Inspire Basic.

- Fixed Bain calling out assault waves on Rats and Cook Off.

- Fixed heisters endlessly yelling "♥♥♥♥!" when detected (now limited to three before a cooldown activates)

- Fixed certain players crashing when a drill has jammed

Remember to join the steam group for the first notice on patch notes!

Which character were you playing as? I know Jacket sometimes "yells" at him but lines don't play.

I'm experiencing a problem, some stuff from project canary aren't playing. E.g as shown in the bank heist video and the other video of reviving someone. Did I do something wrong?
