[HELP] Full Character Replacement
So in theory how possible would it be to create a full character replacement mod?

I know what I would want to change:

  • Suit Textures
  • Head Model and Textures(The only thing I haven't seen done before)
  • Mask Model and Textures
  • First Person Arm Textures
  • Voice Lines(Provided I could find someone to do voice-work)
  • Changing the other character's voice lines(So they don't say the old character's name anymore, Like when they would say for example "Hey Hoxton, follow me!" they would instead just say "Follow me!")
  • Character Icon (on Menu)
  • Background Information (on Menu)
  • (Possibly) Glove Textures

TL;DR Would it be possible to create a Full Character Replacement by modifiying the files of an existing character?

I think that's it, I'll add edits if I think of anything else...

EDIT1: My intention with this is to make a mod that replaces John Wick with an original character. I hate the fact that John Wick is in this game, and I thought that maybe it could be possible to create a replacement for him that fills the same niche, a Hitman. I'm not looking to create anything stupid. (no anime or ponys or anything like that)

EDIT2:

Voice lines? Much harder, but doable.
A custom character model/head? Not possible. Model tool doesn't support rigging yet.

Well...
So when you don't like a comment on your thread you delete it and create a new one.

I forgot you could edit the disscussion title, so I deleted and remade it to word it better.

No, I don't expect it to be easy. I know the basics to modding but I am willing to learn the more advanced stuff.

First ... There is no model editor.
Second ... I think no one will take the trouble of creating a character from scratch....

This guys are breaking the limits

Textures wouldnt be a problem, everything else would range from gruelling to nigh-impossible..

This guys are breaking the limits

First: Chances are I can find a format converter for the file type.

Second: People have before, have you ever seen the mods for games like The Elder Scolls and Fallout games before?

Also who said I was creating it from scratch? I could use say John Wick as a base if I wanted to replace him.

where you will find a face texture, for example? An anime character? Or a pony? C'mon guys

Jesus....You actually think it's possible to get the other non-modded characters to be able to have call lines for your made up heister?

Fallout had the GECK to help place stuff into the game. Fallout and Skyrim are also incrediably easy games to modify files for.

No, again I guess I worded it poorly. What I mean is like how Clover has no voice lines pertaining to Dragan, With other characters she will say "Hey (character name), Come with me!" while with Dragan because she doesn't have voice lines for him she just says "Come with me!"

and because the other heisters wouldn't have any voice lines pertaining to a custom character, I would just want to make all of them say that generic "Follow me!" line.

And how is this so much different from that? It's not like I'm trying to create a new map or something. If all I'm doing to modifying pre-existing files, then I should just be able to drop them in the mod_overrides and have it work fine.

I already know how to modify textures and sounds, models will probably need to be converted into a different format first(like textures do) and changing text would just require making a LUA script.

The GECK was also a mod tool for making mods, Payday 2 does not have that.

characters are some of the most complicated models in the game and have bones/rigging. this makes this impossible with the current modding capabilities since we have no method to modify rigging eventually, hopefully

TL;DR: Impossible.
