Not entirely correct; mod_overrides mods work fine without SuperBLT. But if you want to run lua mods or add in new assets, then you'll need it.

What about mod_override mods that have hook files? Like Visual Fixes.

To my knowledge, Visual Fixes is a combination of overrides and new assets, so it's just easier to have it installed in there. Beardlib handles loading new assets from the mod_overrides folder because vanilla can't.

Let's not kid each other here, Zdann; OP's asking about the SuperBLT because he's got (or is looking at) mods that state they require it, there'd be little point in asking about it otherwise.
