For purpose of learning how to install pdmods I marked timeline it starts in video that talks about it.
PS you might check out pinned threads next time most cases everything you need is in there.
I recommend strongly you setup steam for this game at least not to automatically update game but rather ask you if you wish so that way you can uninstall all pdmods before update and at same time it will restore original files that were inside assets which won't should stop steam detect them as corrupted and after that you should do payday 2 update.
So in short you have to do before game updates:
1. uninstall pdmods
2. update game
3. and finally reinstall pdmods.
