octet-stream files...

Hello Heisters!
I've been trying my best to figure out what's wrong with my OCTET-STREAM files, but i can't find it out.
Each time i install an octet-stream mod, it automatically turns into either an Opera Browser file, or an Internet Explorer file. I'm not so familiar with modding, so i don't know if, or how i can change them to normal files.

OCTET-STREAM is just a .rar/.zip file in this case, get software that can open those
(WinZip, WinRar, 7-Zip, etc.)
