Lua files, tweak data on your own pc?

So im just starting to learn a lot about lua files and tweak data, but many people talks/writes about it being on their own pc and i just can't seem to find it. Can any of you help?

So basicly i just get the code/ makes it there then put it in a folder in my mod folder and it should work?

yes if you made a proper mod.txt

Okay thanks, btw the mod.txt it does not need to be mod.lua does it?

The name of .lua files in mods is something the creator chooses, those contain the code, mod.txt is always called the same and is always required to point the game at your code files.(with an exclusion for main.xml based mods but that's probably not relavent to you)
