Game feels laggy, even with 120+FPS

All is in the title. I just reinstalled the game after a long period and it does this. Any fix?

Do you have Vsync on?

Try turning it off, then, if you experience screen tearing (why wouldn't you), go to your gfx driver's control panel and turn on Vsync there, along with Triple Buffering. See if it helps.

Ok i found the problem, simple in fact. when i put the game in fullscreen, my monitor goes into 1080p 24Hz for no reason

Possible that your renderer_settings.xml file (C:\Users\Your user name\AppData\Local\PAYDAY 2) is incorrect. Check the line that says refresh_rate = "x" and make sure it's set to the refresh rate of your monitor.

Thanks dude, 9 years later and your solution still works (my game was choppy at 165hz monitor, the game thought refresh rate of the monitor was 60hz)

Same for me, was playing on a 165 Hz Monitor and was wondering why it felt so laggy even though I had 200+ fps, it workes perfectly fine since I corrected the refresh rate
