Looks like you have already tried a lot of things. It's especially weird that the game also crashes on your laptop, one would think that the crash is caused by some other software or hardware that runs on both your systems.
Maybe some peripheral is causing it, like a mouse, headset or storage device that you use on both systems? Or maybe a firewall is blocking the game? Which firewall are you using, if any?
Try to disconnect as many peripherals and close as many programs as possible before starting Payday 2, just to check if something is interfering.
Also, have you checked both your Payday 2 game folder and your Appdata folder for crashlogs?
Default locations:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\PAYDAY 2
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\PAYDAY 2
1. Disable all DLCs
2. Restart Steam in offline mode.
3.Find your Steam folder and then navigate. In my case D:\Steam\userdata\1319562\218620\remote.
4. Make a new folder "Backup" or whatever you like.
5. Move all but "save000.sav" to the folder you just created.
6. Start PD2, with Steam still in offline mode.
7. at startup, have steam restore your save.
8. wait until the game started.
9. Now you are frre to close PD2 and restart Steam in Online mode.
10. Enable DLCs.
11. Enjoy!
It seems like one of the updates corrupted your local save-game.
I am glad you got it working again, well done!
I started to think it might be that way, because of same kind of crash on my laptop.
Also the specs on the laptop are within recommendations. Hopefully i might help someone with this sollution.
There should be some other folder with your own Steam ID, it's Steam ID dependent.
You should make your own thread and post your crash.txt, instead of resurrecting old threads.
I´ll lock this one now, so it can rest in peace.
