Crash on "Press Any Key"

Hi, I'm crashing after pressing a key at the startup.

Tried with mods, then removed them.
Tried to run it as admin, even with different windows compatibility.
Verified integrity of game files.
Tried the "clean up event side jobs" mod.

Application has crashed: C++ exception

UPDATE: Tried launching the game on another account, and it works perfectly fine. Although I'm still crashing on my main account.
Tried deleting my save in the local/PAYDAY2 folder, the game worked fine and after replacing the save in the file, the game started crashing again.

Check this guide. There are the main and the backup save files on your PC. Judging by the crashlog, the game is failing to load up the backup save file, the one in local app data. Could you check if you have the main save file in Steam folder? And if yes, try to copy that one into local app data folder and see if the game starts. Make a backup copy of the one in app data if you haven't yet.

I see you have played the game fine before, did this start happening after you removed some mods?

It looks like the game fails to load your save file. Another thing you can try is have Steam fetch the cloud save by removing both save files (do not delete), If cloud sync is enabled, Steam should download the save file from the cloud.

Yes, I was playing just fine today. I crashed after inputing the code to join a lobby in the social hub.
Right after I start up the game again, I get this crash with this crashlog.

EDIT: When only using the cloud, I'm getting a fresh-character save.

Try this mod-fix and let's see what happens, you'll need superBLT
EDIT: the mod does not fix the problem so I removed the link to it.

Make sure you have a backup copy of your save files.
Install the mod, start the game, open inventory, exit the game, remove the mod.

Installed the mod, started the game.
It loaded a fresh-character, I still went into the inventory and closed the game.
I removed the mod and restarted the game and it's still crashing with the same crashlog.

I don't think there's anything else I can do. If it loads a fresh character then the save file must be completely broken and nothing can be loaded from it. I think you should start over with a fresh character, but do keep a copy of your save files in case the devs come up with something.

It's a +2000hours savefile, so I'm obviously not going to start from scratch.

As of now, this works as a workaround.
Other than that, just wait for the devs to fix, if it ever happens.
