Payday 2 stuck on "connecting" since first launch

Like the title says, the game won't do anything but say "connecting" for hours with a cutscene every 5 minutes.
I've restarted my router, contacted epic games support since I have the game on epic games but they said to get in contact with overkill, who sends me here even though I don't have the steam version but the only other option is console so here I am.

Is there anything I can do besides possibly re downloading the game which would take hours?

No idea what it was but the issue resolved itself since after the 8th time of launching the game periodically hoping that something changes it's good now. Goodluck to anyone else with this issue.

Same problem here: running payday 2 (picked up free from epic game store) and running on Geforce now. Stuck on Connecting screen... Every 2-3minutes a cut scene starts (that can not be skipped or something) and if it ends it shows again the connecting screen. Help!

Try without Geforce Now - I've heard there's been a lot of problems with it and Payday 2.
