Game just won't launch

When I try and launch the game it says launching then launching executable and then after that nothing happens and it just closes again. The game doesn't boot up it is about to and then just closes again. I've tried everything, I have: verified my game files, uninstalled and reinstalled, uninstalled all the files individually and then uninstalled through steam, moved it over to a new hard drive, updated my drivers and restarted my pc to see if that was the problem. I have no mods installed by the way. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Having the same issue. No mods. Totally reinstalled and verified and it still will not open

If you attempt to run the game's exe file from the game folder, in Admin mode, does it give you an error code?

I get the error "0xc0000142".

This means you need to update SuperBLT.

I found a fix. If you go into the properties of payday 2 then go to launch options and type in "-steamMM" that seems to work but still a few bugs that weren't there when it was working normally but at least it's playable.

Bro thanks! I deinstalled and reinstalled and hate the problem.

After i deleted the "mods" Folder AND the "WSOCK32.dll" it worked! <3
